Jesus where to begin.
The ones that didn't get 171.34 got their price data from a different source that gave them a different price.
Just because their result differs from the consensus doesn't mean they didn't relay the source data perfectly.

Also, these are oracles feeding data, with a generic aggregation. There are no conditions attached to this current setup.
How much is staked, what discrepancy threshold triggers penalties, how many different nodes/sources are used, how aggregation is done, how reputation is impacted, ... all depends on how the user/node write the contract (or what off-the-shelf contract they use from a third-party listing service).

Im gonna do everyone here a favor.

With many Defi projects pushing Synths we will soon have an incredible spiderweb network of nodes supported by the Chainlink oracle network.

21 nodes for ETH heartbeat

So, in the latest SNX tokens released each synth will need nodes supporting it.

LINK x 21
MKR x 21
ZRX x 21
SNX x 21
REN x 21
LRC x 21
KNC x 21
BNT x 21
MLN x 21

Nodes = 189
189 nodes x 10,000 LINK = 1,890,000 LINK

im assuming each node carrying/staking 10,000 LINK.....for now? (Might be less in the distant future)

Now, think for one second.

Defi is attempting to synth as many assets as it can and offer decentralized derivative trading not only crypto but commodity assets along with equities.

So, lets start with top 100

Crypto top 100
100 Cryptos x 21 nodes each = 2100 nodes
2100 x 10,000 LINK = 21,000,000 LINK (staked)

3,812 tradeable stocks in the stock market
3,812 synths x 21 nodes each = 80,052 nodes
80,052 nodes x 10,000 LINK = 800,520,000 LINK

Thats 80% of Chainlinks total supply. That is insane but ok. lets narrow it down some. Maybe just the S&P 500.

S&P 500 (505 stocks)
505 synths x 21 nodes each = 10,605 nodes
10,605 nodes x 10,000 LINK = 106,050,000 LINK (staked)

30 Commodities in futures exchange
30 synths x 21 nodes each = 630 nodes
630 nodes x 10,000 LINK = 6,300,000 (staked)

180 Currencies being traded in the world
180 synths x 21 nodes each = 3,780 nodes
3,780 nodes x 10,000 LINK = 31,800,000 LINK (staked)

you guys get the idea.

Keep in mind THIS IS ONLY ONE INDUSTRY, DEFI.

Chainlink will be tackling many industries, betting, insurance etc... Also, keep in mind I ONLY use 21 nodes per synth as there will be more. And I haven't even talked about transactions paid in LINK TOKENS yet

Honestly, when $1000 EOY isn't that far from the truth. Actually, $1000 becomes fud once you realize the depth of Web 3.0.

Do yourself a favor, be all in Chainlink and take a vacation. Comeback in a year and enjoy your riches.

These "webs" won't be for everything, just the basic crypto datasets to do memefi shit on literally who dexes.

There's no set amount to run a node, no requirement to even have a stake on a node. Also, many of these nodes (especially the vetted security assured heartbeat types) can preform any number of requests and provide any apis they have access to simultaneously.

It isn't linear, unfortunately...but you have the right idea.

That's a hard question to answer. Chainlink looks like it will continue to go up against BTC even if BTC crabs or goes down. The cat is simply too far out the bag for it be stopped before it gets into the top 3. It's also just getting started from the looks of it as new tech and partnerships continue to accelerate. Now the overall slow moving, illiquid market will hold it back and cause slower growth than a full bull market. For me it seems a no-brainer investment over the next two years with a range anywhere from 20 to several hundred. Over the 5+ year tiime frame it could go higher and become a trillion dollar protocol but it takes time.
