Are there any small business owners on /biz/, or are you all just investing your McDonalds paychecks into cryptos?

What's your biz? Annual revenue/profit? How did you get there and where are you going?

I run an online "business". I've been making $100k-$250k/ year in profits for the past 5 years. I don't want to explain exactly what I do as it's a very niche field and I don't want competition from a million /biz/ pajeets.

> How did you get there
Found out that there's money to be made doing it 7 years ago. Spent 1-2 years learning, setting everything up and growing. Since then the "business" has been pretty stable.
The market will probably die off over the next 7-10 years so I'm looking for new busines opportunities.

My advice would be to keep your eyes open and don't assume X business idea is dead or there's no money to be made just because that's what most people say. Most people are retarded and suck at entrepreneurship. When they fail at X business they assume everyone else can't make it either.
I have a friend who makes/ has made tons of money from running dropshipping shopify stores (if you believe everything you read you would think dropshipping is dead). He's very smart/ talented though, I'm sure it's not easy money.

I wouldn't recommend buying a business unless you know the industry inside and out. You can buy a shitty, poorly run, unprofitable business for dirt cheap and turn it around into a money making machine if you know what you're doing. The other alternative is paying a shit ton for a well-run profitable business, but it will take years before you recoup your initial investment.

My uncle recently decided to invest in me and pay for me to get my FFL (federal firearms license) and we’re gonna meet in December to develop a business strategy for getting into the gun business. Pretty fucking excited because I currently work in a gun store and they’re being dicks about letting me see my family on Christmas and this pissed my uncle off so we’re gonna siphon business from them

Real estate operating a business. 11 units...rent them out. That’s it. Two rules...no families with kids or pets and I don’t live in my own property. I rent an apt and my tenants don’t know I own the building...they think I’m the super and I work for an office that manages the building.

Can any /biz/ people give me advice with liability insurance, like what can I expect to pay each year? I need to talk to an insurance broker but there is so many out there I want to get an idea first.

Basically I want to start an earthmoving business and need some liability insurance for my startup company just incase for example I hire an excavator off someone and somehow blow a motor worth 500k up or accidentally hit someones truck on a job. I plan on trying to avoid these things but 1 mistake like that could ruin me.
