So I bought pic related. It was a pain in the ass to set up, and I've been fucking with it for hours and still can't figure out how to work a lot of things. Not exactly thrilled to store my coins on this thing with how frustrating it has been to work it.

I have like $10k between Polo and Binance and obviously I don't want to leave it on the exchanges, especially now with Donald Dickhead who wants to shut everything down.

Am I just a brainlet? Was my mistake getting the Trezor One and not the Model T?

I just assumed these devices would be as simple as using the exchanges was....and I want to get my coins off the exchanges...

jesus, you're retarded. take 30 minutes to read about how it works. Link is an ERC-20 token, along with 95% of other shitcoins. you send them to your ethereum address (trezor will send you to myetherwallet) and they will appear there. you may just have to click 'load' in myetherwallet next to chainlink to see your balance. you can also go to etherscan and look at your address to see your balance

>>16290673
are you retarded? you have to set up mew to transfer erc20s. i bought a trezor one a while ago and it was extremely simple to setup

I hear what you're saying, but just for the ease of visibility and usage why not just have an actual LINK wallet so I can look at what I have without the extra step and bullshit?

>>16290712

Also aside from this, multiple tokens I like are not supported, but they are supported on the Model T. Why not have the Model T for those tokens?

because there are literally thousands of erc-20 tokens. so you just select 'ethereum' and you send everything to myetherwallet

Well sure, but there's maybe 100 top coins. Why not just have wallets for all those coins. Having this extra step is really fucky to me. The exchanges don't do this, so why do the hard wallets?

God damn you are retard.

> No LINK wallet, but people say to send it to your ETH address and it will be there but might not be visible...

Link is not a crypto but an ethereum token.

> A whole bunch of other complicated shit I can't understand

It's for your security so you better understand it.

> Tons of very relevant coins that are not supported

Because most of those coins are eth scamtokens so they are supported under your ethereum wallet.

> Trezor says they are supported on the Trezor One, but an option is not available on the dropdown list of wallets

Only non eth tokens are in the dropdown list , most scamcoins you see here on biz are eth tokens not evne individual coins so you can get them in your eth wallet.

>Am I just a brainlet? Was my mistake getting the Trezor One and not the Model T?

Model one is fine.

>I just assumed these devices would be as simple as using the exchanges was....and I want to get my coins off the exchanges...

And you should but this things are the real deal no retard allow , you have just realized that things like chainlink are not coins but tokens , exchanges may sell them as coins but they are not.

Also you should get to know the "exchange" functionality of your trezor , you can literally do exchanges without using a central exchange there in the next golden bullrun exchanges will be rekt worse than in 2017 so only those with hardware wallets will be safe , also get to know the exodus software wallet which is compatible with your trezor and also has their own exchange functionality.

Thanks for your post.

My one issue though is you are STILL exposing your coins and data to someone when you use one of those sites or programs in conjunction with your ledger/trezor. How is that any different from exposing yourself on an exchange?

The coins are still in your hardware wallet.

>>16291107
No you are not exposing it your hardware wallet sign everything for you and won't allow you to send things without checking it in the hardware first.

Be careful login into your hardware wallet there has been a lot of retardh pishing sites asking you to put the 24 words that you use for back up to login , trezor will never ask that.

The point is that everything you do on the hardware wallet will need to be aproved by you phyisically with the thing clicking it so no one can do shit remotely with your coins unless they steal your 24 seed phrases.

>How is that any different from exposing yourself on an exchange?

If the exchange is hacked you lost it all , here the key to the coins is in the hardware so there is no site to hack , only way they can steal it from you is:

1_You put your 24 recovery phrases in a pishing site as a retard

2_Thet steal your hardware and your password.

MEW is not the entity that stores your public and private keys, Everything needed to access your wallet is on the trezor. The only way you can get funds in or out of your trezor wallet is if it is powered on. MEW does not hold anything, It just allows you to send and see what's on the wallet as long as it's plugged in.

>> No.16291155

>>16291068
In simpler terms, MEW is just an interface to use your wallet, Not where the actual funds are kept.

>> No.16291159

>>16291148

I get that. But you still need mew to:
> view the balance
> send tokens

So my question is there must be hundreds of sites and programs that offer this same capability?

>> No.16291163

>>16291107
holy fuck how can one be that stupid honestly
on an exchange you don‘t own your coins cause they have the private keys. The hardware wallet keeps your private keys safe which is literally it‘s only purpose. how did you even end up owning link and a trezor if you have no clue what you‘re doing

Yes, There will always be sites to offer this service. In the future banks will offer it instead of these sites, But it will always be accessible.

It's all becoming clear now. I get that there are 1000's of tokens and Trezor did not want to write in direct sending and receiving capability with all of them, HOWEVER I think it would have been a good thing for them to have direct access to maybe the top 50 (coins like LINK) using Trezor.

Just seems lazy that you have to use 3rd party software to perform the basic functions that the device could do. I would have easily paid much more money to have this capability.

The thing is that anyone can create tokens would be retarded for trezor to track them all they just are in charge of your security.
