I have a comfy but not especially well paying office job. Basically, I have some low level responsibilities and some deadlines to meet, otherwise my time is mostly mine to spend freely. I “work from home” two days a week. Tomorrow, we’re having five hours straight of OKR (objective key result) training. I’m horrified by this development. I don’t want to have to keep acting like I’m setting and achieving new goals and milestones, I just want to do my work and be left alone. I was seriously considering calling in sick tomorrow until I listened to Sergey’s most recent podcast appearance. When he’s asked about what he’s reading, he actually mentions OKRs. Is this enough reason to go or should I try to avoid this as much as possible? I know I probably sound like a little bitch, I just fucking hate heavy handed management and have been lucky enough to live without it for a few years now.
