>UI
Innovative product line, almost Apple-like business model, but also not exclusive (can mix and match hardware). Really up and coming in the enterprise network hardware space. Relatively young company with lots of growth potential. Currently focused on U.S. and Canada, so potential to enter and grow in other markets still exists.

>MDT
Largest medical device company in the world. Do the math. Here's a hint: Ok Boomer.

>SPLK
Had a couple great quarters. Making inroads in enterprises that needs access to actionable real-time analytics and data analysis. Kind of a gamble as this space is getting/could get a bit crowded, but based Cramer loves em.

If a company can't maintain an adequate price to remain trading on a major stock exchange they will be delisted and trade as pink sheets aka over the counter stocks. Not being traded on a real exchange makes them weird and sketch af basically, you have to rely on quotes to determine their value. If you know what you're doing with a specific company it's possible to make great profits if they get re-listed, but many otc stocks wallow in obscurity forever.

My problem with the modified Stoch RSI is it would occasionally tell me to sell right in the middle of a strong bullish trend and no amount of increasing the period length was able to prevent that while maintaining the valid signals in the process.

Speaking of which the thing I love the most about tradingview is the community indicators. People have programmed all sorts of stuff and some of it ain't half bad at all.

AMRN, Nothing seems to stand in its way now! Next stop the Ass kicking and the Holy Buyout. Yes its tempting to sell and run like hell now but hold fast, wait for the Holy Buyout. See your profit double. Its 20.x now, the Holy buyout would pump it to 40.x. Or after the stock rises even more after the ass kicking and final green light, you'd be getting 60 per me thinks.

Yeah that was a goal I was giving you anon. Plan for the future and set goals. No need to be defensive unless you plan on never saving up that much money kek

Here are some more practical solutions:
If you're a neet, I would suggest working a wagie job, even minimum wage is fairly high depending on which state you live in desu. If you're not a NEET and you already have a job but are barely scrapping by, I would suggest looking at finding a niche community and filling a void there anon. Communities can be extremely lucrative.
Hope that helps, anon. And since your starting with around $175 I would suggest playing it safe. As you make money from the methods I told you about you can invest more into other stocks. But stick with something like Microsoft, and with the left over money buy YEXT or Amarin. Again, just play it safe for now until you get a handle on things. Even if Microsoft, YEXT, or Amarin go down 3% in a day, don't panic sell because that will lock in your losses. Better to wait a week and a half after a large loss that came out of no where because usually losses like that will recover over a period of 1 to 2 weeks.
Cheers m8.

Well I'd expect AMRN stock to dip some, people taking the quick profit while it's there, you know. But 11/14 is the next meeting, which going from the news today looks to be a rubber stamp deal by the FDA. The real make or break meeting for AMRN comes on Dec 28th. They pass this, they have all the cards. Nothing can stop them. Profit out the ass is a lock for ten years. Luckily 70% of cases if a drug passes this advisory meeting with FDA (11/14) then they get approved by the FDA later (12/28). Again, the news today, the odds of getting that Green light are very very high now. If Big Pharma don't make an offer now or before the year is done, well they're fools. After Dec 28th the cost to buy AMRN shoots up tons. Make no mistake though, a Buyout will happen. To much Profit there to let just pass by.

>My style is keep them small and quick but consistent
I was doing the same thing last year. Nice.
Yeah there's a few ways to short a company.
>short calls
>short selling
>buying puts
Those are all bearish moves someone can make.

For any anons looking to try it, I'd recommend short selling. This article explains it clearly:
>Short sellers borrow shares of stock that they do not own (typically from their broker’s street account) and sell those shares at the current market price. The goal is to re-buy those shares of stock at a lower price in the future and then return the borrowed shares to the lender. Short sellers are hoping they can profit off of the difference between the proceeds from the short sale and the cost of buying back the shares, referred to as short covering.
So you barrow the shares from a broker and sell them basically immediately, and then you buy the same amount of shares at the lower price later on and return it to the original broker. You're just making money on the difference.

Selling a call or buying a put are probably the more popular choices though.

It's still too expensive unless you have some optimistic insight about it. The dividend payout is higher than 100% of the prior year's EPS. P/E is over 20. That's a valid concern, but I wouldn't counsel investing in foreign indices. As a rule foreign stocks are for losers, and USA is number 1. I don't say that to preclude all foreign investment whatsoever, only that it ought to be done with more care and scrutiny. Rather than just investing some arbitrary percentage in some generic foreign fund, brushing off your hands, saying you are now sufficiently diversified, be more discriminating and choose more targeted funds or individual concerns according to what you think will perform well. We should also diversify our domestic holdings as well. Rather than 100% in some SPX fund, a good strategy would be to keep a 401k (which you should be fully-funding up to your employer's match) 100% on a SPX fund, and your IRA in 100% LCI common stock. That way LCI will juice your returns, but you won't totally lose your shirt if the Democrats get in power and put LCI out of business.

People are saying stupid stuff about them like how people only eat organic, "natural" foods. That's obviously false, and besides, Kraft had the best macaroni and cheese product on the market, and they even reformulated the recipe to use all "natural" ingredients for anyone who cares. There is just no way that Kraft won't be here in 50 years. The company has all the ingredients to succeed.

I would have to be impossibly desperate to burn and inhale anything that comes from India. I mean damn

I actually really like like their logo though. Feels like it was made by some honest businessperson, not a marketer.

Doesn’t sound like the thesis is exporting. The thesis is that there’s probably a shitload of customers already in India, and the government has created a moat for to prevent foreign competition from competing in the marketplace. And people love smoking. You could say it’s habit forming.

its a almost decent company that had some problems, got shorted the fuck out (like as short as possible), recently reported some progress, dropped even further, anons screaming and scramblin, feelings got hurt, losses were made, some won't give up (which makes sense) and by looking at the price, I guess that a lot of shorts are gone now.

Fast moving consumer goods. They are also building hospitals, luxury hotels and venturing into agritech. I see these as vanity projects, where they are deploying small amounts of capital.

Most of their operating cashflows are being invested into FMCG. Basically everyday consumer products like chips, biscuits, frozen foods, chocolates, perfumes etc. Much of India's growth is consumer driven growth so good place to invest. Plus the govt. has cut tax rates massively. Do note that you will have to be patient. This is a long term story. The stock price hasn't moved in 5 years. My family has held the company for decades.

Hey that’s pretty cool. I haven’t been paying too much attention lately, but it sounds like Modi has made a pivot from his tone deaf attitude towards India, and is being more business friendly.

I’m curious about how his currency reform has worked, sounded bold and a little bit reckless.

Not really. Real estate market deserves a slowdown. Boomers made tons of money in it. Thanks to them buying a 3 bedroom flat in Mumbai costs more than a million USD. How on earth is that sustainable in India?

I can get around 6% in my bank deposit, 7.5% with fixed deposits or upto 12% in govt bonds(all local currency). Subtract that with 3.5% to get rates in USD.

Reckless. It has caused a huge slowdown in the economy, but India long term is a consumer bull run. Even in the worst slowdown in the last 10 years, ITC delivered a 6% volume growth and 35% net profit growth.

Look 20 years back India was almost a fully commie country, with 95% taxation for the rich. You can't expect change overnight, Modi or not. It'll take time. Most of Indian growth will be in consumer spending. Per capita income is growing in double digits on average for the last few years. I own consumer stocks or proxy consumer stocks in India and Google/Facebook in US.

It’s a generic drug company, not the stuff the Dems want to get rid of, and not the stuff trump has been bashing in regards to high priced drugs from big pharma.

Political action could help them because generics help keep prices down, but that’s very likely. Most likely is it’s a non issue.

Some people here are so simple minded, it’s like they short circuit if you go against their political narrative. It’s the other side of the coin for TDS.

Gaming has exploded so has social media like TikTok. Both are only restricted to mobile. Nintendo doesn't even officially sell Switch in India. You have to buy it from importers.

In India software = mobile. Everyone has extremely cheap LTE(I pay 1$/month for unlimited LTE, calling, SMS) and Chinese mobile phones(likes of Oppo, Xiaomi, Oneplus).

I own ITC, Syngene(pharma contract outsourcing company), Thyrocare(diagnostics company with asset lite business model) and Cera(toilet making company that has had explosive growth kek). There are some wonderful businesses in consumables but they are trading at insane valuations. I like Titan and Asian Paints too but they are trading at 70-80 P/E. Look at Diageo and Unilever. You can buy them in US/UK market. A large amount of their growth is from developing markets like India.

To add consumer banks are doing very well. Bajaj Finance is growing at 50% for the past 10 years or so. HDFC also doing very well. But I don't understand financials so don't buy them. My family portfolio has HDFC bank in large quantities. Family portfolio is managed by my grandpa.

One word of caution before investing in India or EMs: There is a lot of fraud and junk so you need to be extremely careful and stock specific. If you have any queries just shoot them across on /smg/. I regularly end up browsing threads here and will reply if I see any India specific queries.
