Depends on seller and state.

Many states exempt taxes if you buy more than $1000 at a time.

And some online sellers tax a state while others don't. For example, JM Bullion (my old seller) charged sales tax @ my state but once I found out that SD bullion doesn't charge sales tax to buyers in this state, I just started buying from there.

Every seller has a chart showing where people will get sales taxed.

My personal goal is 1000 oz.
I have 320 oz currently.
I have 6 grams of gold as well and I plan on getting more but not until I've reached 500 oz of silver.
You should never stop stacking though.
Stacking should be a lifetime endeavor just like how most people never stop working for pieces of paper .
