Get him a bag of beans and a bag of rice from costco if you really feel the need. Problem is though, this person should really go to a food bank. It’s probably a ploy to find someone sentimental enough to further beg from in the future. It’ll start with a small drop of food, then in a few weeks you’ll get a text asking for some more food. Then a text asking for some money to help pay bills. Why not get an ebt card (food stamps) if they are actually too poor to get food. Its a trap imo
