I've always wanted to get into stocks and shares because my father was always into them. I initially saw them as free money, get rich quick, day trading, making stacks on margins etc.

Now I'm actually doing it I'm a lot more ... they are something fun if you like looking at the world around you, identifying opportunities, doing research and then taking a calculated risk over a relatively long length of time.

Like I just want to beat inflation and beat passive ways to hold my money like savings accounts.

So I'm 70% in ETF's split geographically. 20% individual shares mainly based on rumour, research and gut instinct and 10% fixed rate savings. My ETF's generally gain 2-3% a month and are up 30% overall since I bought. My 'day trading' fund is up 39% over the same period though I get small losses, 1% or so. My savings make 2.05% a year.

I'm up about $120 a month on 6k. I'm not sure it is worth the amount of time I put into it, but I sort of enjoy it so ... it isn't the end of the world.

I am haunted by the idea that the sustained bull market is unsustainable and that the market is a bubble fuelled by inflation and quantitative easing which shields the regular economy from inflation by holding so much speculative money and that a correction is due, overdue even and all my stocks are going to drop 30-40% next year. I keep thinking I should sell the lot and hold it as fiat or find something else to hold it as because I am completely convinced it is coming.

Equally though if the market bottoms out I'll probably buy 6-12k of stocks and go 10-20 years long.

When I made a rule that I will not buy after a pump, I stopped losing money. Every time I've lost money it's been from buying after a pump or getting scared and selling on a dump only to buy back later.

I however do not live in bumfuck europe and I do have valuable insight for you. You want to know what I wagie all day doing? I spend hours managing a team of quants to build portfolios for people worth millions of dollars. All day long I deal with one fucking thing, risk adjusted returns and making sure my team is on the right path, that we have solid fundamentals in a portfolio that hits everything from liquidity needs to making sure the portfolio gives us enough kickbacks from funds. So yeah i do know a thing or two about risk, and my opinion is that crypto is well worth the risk, and specifically understanding the industry gives me insight into how the big guys like to do things and promote themselves when they are trying to keep things on the down low and keep the chaff out. I'm literally trying to help you out, suku was my recommendation personally but what you really shouldve been focusing on that i told you was quorum and azures collaborative startups.
