>tfw watching newfags making MKR threads since last week like they found a new gem

i feel like i should sell, but if i do i just know it'll pump by 200%

Love Maker. Held Dai from Feb 2018 to earlier this year.

Price is pumping cuz of multi-collateral Dai announcement, but will dump after it releases.

you mean bags to pump. This is andreessen horowitz biggest crypto investment.

are you talking dollarinos? MKR trailed at 0.55 ETH for a while, and ETH ran from $10 to $400 during the first half of 2017. VCs got in during that time, in private rounds and at a preferential rate. i doubt they paid more than $50 per MKR
you're also misinformed on VC exits. some might grumble on a x2 to x3, but x10s-x20s will make any of them incredibly happy. x100s are one in a lifetime events, and x1000 are virtually unheard of
the only reason they don't dump now is because there's simply no liquidity to handle their bags. this is the best protection we have

The DEFI movement has just started.

I've listened to every podcast of Rune Christensen, the founder. He is a fucking genius.

I didn't realize how brilliant the team was until they talked about the Andreessen Horowitz
VC investment. Everyone thinks they found Maker.

Maker chose them because they have the lead prosecutor of Silk Road on their team so they were protected if the government tries to claim Maker is a security. No one is making moves like that.

you don't need to stake it. people who open CDPs need to pay fees in MKR, which is burned. so the game theory is that your MKR progressively increases in value, as max supply decreases

They've publicly stated that one firm got in at 250 when Maker was at 500.

I've stated in another area of the thread that they did this because Andressen Horowitz has the lead prosecutor in their firm. That is a huge asset in crypto since that would be the person with the biggest bias against crypto giving a stamp of approval.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. 1000x is a million investment turning into a billion. That's not unheard of by any means. That happened to nearly all of silicon valley.

Dai is the stablecoin soft pegged to the us dollar.

Maker is the governance token for Dai. It allows you to put an asset up as collateral and receive Dai. Say I have 10 eth. I want to still be heavily invested in eth, but have cash on the side to still buy videogames/whatever you want/or even buy more eth.

You lock up eth in a smart contract and set a liquidity rate. If eth stays above that liquidity rate all you need to do is return dai to get it back. if eth goes below the liquidity rate your position liquidates and the remaining eth that wasn't needed to cover your position is returned to you.

On Nov.18th multi collateral dai is being voted in. This means any asset that can be tokenized has the potential to be put up as collateral. This includes wrapped bitcoin, or any real asset that wants to tokenize. Imagine if a fortune 500 company tokenizes shares? How many people would want to have access to cash from their investments?

>> No.16177967

>>16177872

The burn rate is less than 1% per year. It's a trade off, your "dividend" is lower, but guaranteed.

Also they can't issue more, though the founding members probably have 200,000 sitting off on the side to influence things if necessary.
