In the future, "one satoshi" will be the social and linguistic equivalent of "one dollar." People will be paid for their labor in satoshis, probably a handful annually.

The word "Bitcoin" will refer to the conglomerate of elites who will have accumulated virtually the entire supply by pumping the price so much that even the highest volume holders sell out for fiat and then end up as satoshi slaves shortly afterwards. They will have total control of the only currency in the world and therefore the entire economic structure.

You won't be one of them.

Tbh lad, that is unlikely. The current central banking paradigm is much better at keeping the masses enslaved. What you describe would lead to revolt in ~ 1 year.

i'm no boomer and i'm probably more bullish on bitcoin than you are but it just doesn't have the desired properties of money. it's an excellent gold replacement tho.

the ideal money is flexible in supply (thus stable in value), unlimited tx/s and ease to transact, private and completely fungible, extremely durable, easily secured, impossible to counterfeit, readily divisible.

what bitcoin has from this is divisibility and ease of securing it. rest is a bust.

>> No.16167356

>>16167345
well arguably it's hard to counterfeit unless you count shitforks as counterfeits and pretty durable as durable as the internet really.

look at dai infinitely flexible supply stable value. it's pegged to the usd but any asset or basket of assets could be used that has price discovery available for oracles.

crypto like that is much better suited to be money.

that aside bitcoin is awesome and will hit $1mil within 5 years.

Well the gist of it is that inflation makes rich people want to invest their money instead of hoarding it. Similar to how you want to hold your bitcoin instead of spending it if you believe that it will always go up. Now imagine that but with the entire economy.

I haven't spent enough time looking into Dai, but from what I've read so far all I see is that the price is pegged to the dollar but the purchasing power suffers the same issues as our current system.

I'm going to look more into it. Thanks

That would be fine in times of growth when their investments outperform whatever BTC would make them, but in a downturn BTC would become a safe haven and thus create a death spiral for the real economy. I'm not sure if the people who believe in "sound money" like gold and BTC even agree that business cycles exist.
