I backtested the feasibility of trading the S&P both long and short for each wave recently. Man, shorting the market is a real son of a bitch. Your timing has to be so good to consistently make a profit doing that over several years. Your losses on all the times it failed to continue a potentially strong start to a downward trend will eat away the gains you make from the handful of shiny times per decade it really does hold a bearish trend for any length of time so fast. As far as I have managed to glean from the data in backtesting, simply exiting your position on short signals and buying back in long on the following buy signal beats playing both sides handily.

This is for swing trading mind you. Hold period of a week to a month or so or however long the bullish trend holds (which can be in excess of a year). Day trading both sides of the volatility is feasible I think but not swing.

Steve Easterbrook has been fired as chief executive of McDonald’s, the fast-food chain announced on Sunday, after he engaged in a consensual relationship with an employee that violated company policy.

In a statement announcing the firing, McDonald’s said the company’s board had determined that Mr. Easterbrook had “demonstrated poor judgment.”

I hope Dec 2019 is a repeat of last year (Dec 2018). Jan 2020 will be a good month for Cheapie Hunting due to Brexit. The E.U has already said no more extensions. So Jan 2020 is it. No deal is very very likely. U.K has had all this time to get a deal in place, 2 more months won't make any difference.

>So Jan 2020 is it. No deal is very very likely. U.K has had all this time to get a deal in place, 2 more months won't make any difference.

It all depends on how many seats either the Conservatives or Brexit Party can get.

If the Conservatives achieve a majority, they'll pass the deal that Johnson has negotiated.

If the Brexit Party scrape off enough MPs from Labour/Conservatives, they'll hold the Conservatives hostage for a no deal Brexit in exchange for a coalition government.

Another dark horse is a Coalition government between Labour/Lib Dem/SNP. Corbyn being elected PM would make the markets shit the bed.

If you're new to this whole thing you're much better dipping your toes in with index ETFs. Look for horizontal support lines (YouTube it). When the chart pulls back to the highest support line, buy in with a third of your account. If it keeps dropping, find the next likely support and buy there with another third and so on. As the price moves back up, start slowly selling out of your position at first and more rapidly as the price looks like it's at its peak. Wash rinse repeat next time it drops.
You can do this with SPY (tracks the S&P) and make peanuts or you can go hard with SSO which is 2x leveraged, rebalanced daily or SPXL 3x leverage or ludicrous mode with SOXL, a 3x leveraged ETF with semiconductor companies as the underlying and approach crypto gains in the boomer market. The safety net with all of these is unlike a single company, the entire market is less likely to take a fat shit and every time it has in the last 150 years it eventually recovered. And if you go with the leveraged funds you get gains equivalent or better than single stocks.
And ignore naysayers mewling about "beta decay" and daily rebalancing. Their arguments are in the ballpark but their conclusions are flat wrong. Just look at the historical SOXL chart for a good reference to how tragically wrong the naysayers really are.

An interesting remark from Lisa Su was they've invested more in R&D this year than initially planned.

With aggressively paying down the debt and additional R&D, it become easy to see why they only met earnings recently instead of beating it - they've chosen to put any excess money into long-term investments while keeping shareholders pacified with met expectations.

AMD also just reached a new high.

To clarify, I'm including future dividends, not just present ones. So for example, if a company doesn't pay now, but it will eventually, that still counts towards its value.

Otherwise, unless you expect to sell it for a higher price to somebody else, why would you buy a stock? I suppose you could also include future buyout potential, but that's pretty niche.

>what will happen to investments and stocks next crisis
Same thing that happened every other crisis. Most stocks fall. Certain companies rise, like gold miners. Good buying opportunity, so people with cash buy the cheapies, thus slowly increasing price as poor companies go bankrupt and solid ones stay afloat while new ones enter the scene. This isnt new. It's happened at least 3 or 4 times in this country alone.

>does it make sense with $15k
Yes. Choose your strategies. Wanna go high risk? Trade options. Wanna go for stable growth? Dividend stocks. Wanna be a safe bubble wrapped boy? Bonds.

Question you didnt ask but I'm going to answer anyway:
>why should I stay away from crypto
Because your primary boys are bitcoin and tether. Bitcoin value is tethered to tether, and tethers value is tied to USD, defeating purpose of having crypto in the first place. Next is competition, if it ever gets big these meme cryptos arent gonna make it compared to facebook type behemoths with their libra. That's assuming the value doesnt crash when tether gets shut down, or if governments allow this stuff to exist once it gets big. 3rdly, the value of these cryptos are mostly propped up by cult like sentiment, similar to the BYND bubble. Ultimate nerd fantasy of their tech making them rich, and experiencing joy at other peoples losses.

Crypto as a concept is ok I guess, but everything about the current environment screams bubble. Youd know that if you and your crypto buddies had any knowledge of financial markets, but almost none of you do, and that alone should be enough to scare real investors and traders away. It's 100% pure, fantastical, speculation. Good luck.

I need to stick to reading investopedia and maybe checkout that forex trading youtube channel that was mentioned here.

Sometimes my instincts work though, really glad I took profits in Twilio... holy shit. And that took some money off the table in this morning's Disney rally. Unfortunately I lost all that and more in buying MCD, and that's only a minor loss for me.

Anyway, what're supply/demand zones?

TD Ameritrade is good, yes. I use it and I use Robinhood.

If you need an investing strategy, the one I use is investing primarily in companies where I understand the product they sell, the market for that product, and have thoroughly researched them, from amount of shares they have outstanding, how the stock price has done recently (is it particularly low or high), and whether there is any upcoming news or events that could drastically effect the stock price.

Who?
No nonsense forex?
He's a scam.
Check out Alfonso Moreno.
He's working with supply/demand.
>SupplyDemand
They're simply just zones where supply or demand takes over. Stocks simply manoeuvres into those zones through day by day fluctuations or the zones come to the current stock price through changes in fundamentals and sentiment. We don't really know where they start and end because we can't know who all the buyers and sellers are and what they're thinking. But we can take the historical prices as a hint. See pic related.
>1
We see a bit of consolidation and then a aggressive break downwards. I don't know what happened there but it must have been severe. The fundamentals and or sentiment changed in a way that the then current price was not justified anymore and was rejected. The stock was in the supply zone. We now mark the consolidation range shortly before the breakout and wait for the stock to come back. We see this in 3. The fundamentals did not change in a way that made the before rejected price acceptable again. => price was rejected again.
In short: the trend is your fren, when the stock price enters a supply or demand zone then trade in the direction of the trend. If it goes through then take loss.
>2
2 is the bullish version of 1. 1 is a supply zone
2 is a demand zone.
Very simple: consolidation + breakout.
The more distinctive the breakout is in relation to the consolidation range the better. The more volume the breakout has the better. If it is backed up by earnings, news... => really good.
4 did not quit reach the demand zone. Shit happens. 5 did. I bought at 5 because of 2 and then there is another thing which makes 2 a little special. If you use volume profile (the tick version not the container version which you have in your pic) and look at the consolidation part at 2 then you see a massive spike at .55 I don't know what happened there buy anomalies in volume profiles are usually your fren(if used correcty).

I assume .55 was a offering or smth but a lot of people bought there. When the price comes crashing down such spikes build up quite a wall.
You can use volume profile to determine the heavypoints of the zones. It's also important to look at how severe the reaction to those zones is. When the price just moves a little bit in the opposite direction and then comes back then the zone is probably losing it's power.
You can see this a bit in pic related. 2 is a quite strong move while 4 is not as strong anymore. I'm halfway confident about 5 because of the .55 anomaly and the upcoming phase 2 results though.

No the long wait one is ATBPF. With SNSS the run up to and follow up of ASH Dec 7-10 is the timetable you're waiting for. Then if you want (I probably will) you can wait for a better entry point later to buy in for the wait for FDA approval. This anon >>16141311

>Safety
We simply make the assumption that it's safe. It's related to naprox and we don't have any reason to believe that it's not safe. We had human trials before.
>womac
In Wallace's presentation he said that it has a score of 8.5 vs the 5 of naprox. The stock is running on hopes and dreams that the phase 2b results will feature better results than those which we already have. Therefore I will sell my batch for ~50-80% gains before results but after last patient enrollment and buy in later again for the promised partnership/selling/buyout/.... whatever.
