The price isn't going to get too much higher unless people start using it for day to day transactions. And they will. The plan is to hold till an economic rescession. It won't be quite like a depression because government knows in order to save it's ass they have to keep the lights on.

In modern times that means keepin' the internet runnin'. Why? Because these utilities keep people from gettin uppity and our modern system of credit and finance is transitioning towards an internet based system for handling POS services and other transactions, which they have to mantain to keep the economy going.

Now what you gonna use when the system breaks down? You ain't gonna have dollars to debit or credit once the system breaks... but there will be other forms of currency, like Bitcoin...That's where the money lies.

The economy will crash and there will be a brief period you can use Bitcoin to make transactions. Whether it's direct or you trade it for some other form of currency, you'll have it as a store of value until the economy recovers.

Except it's very unlikely they'll be able to this time, they're out of ammunition. Rates are already near zero, QE is already being deployed at a faster rate than the Great Recession and it's still not doing anything to alleviate the situation. The bubbles are much larger, and this time nearly all 1st/2nd world countries are in the same boat. This isn't going to be a recession, it's going to be a decade-long depression.

Every cycle brings larger proportional normies in as faith grows exponentially every time media reports "btc hits new ath". Second, mayyybe third time the resistant populace might ignore it. With every additional ath, now spanning 10 years+, it has a bigger and bigger hammer every time to apply to normies logic centers due to constant recurrent reality of value. When I started in 2017 I thought real shit was being built, that newer better tech would replace it and soon. But every bear cycle that crushes 90%+ alts into oblivion creates yet another wave of btc maximalists. Until real, mass appeal use case scenario emerges that vastly overpowers btcs first to market advantage, I don't think this will go away. Instead, It gets strengthened every cycle. Long shots like link, qnt whatever might post bigger gains but that's relative to roulette at this point. Even link, with it's major wave of faith, has enough in the dev coffers that Sergey could exit scam and be a new oil sheik tomorrow. I've realized over the last two years that new tech is by and large being developed by either major corporations that crypto in it's essence doesn't trust, or indie style low resource dev teams so it won't advance quickly. The future is farther to my eyes now than it was in 2017. Past trend statistics, which are flawed but are all I've got to go on, suggest 70k. In order to not overshoot the top I plan for 50-70k. If something does usurp btc, I see it most likely as ethereum. It's got the faith and the foundation to create a whole new economy. My two cents.

Also, sv, whether the "real" Bitcoin or not, doesnt have the accepted value or faith that ticker btc has. The new money/faith will follow the market setter, the band-aid of bandages, the common household name. new money is worried about the legitimacy of this market as a whole, and Bitcoin is what they've been hearing for a decade. New tech is something that they'll delve into after dipping their toes in the pool in a fit of fomo during the next run. After getting their toes wet and actually understanding the tech a bit. which is why alt season trails btc run, and not the other way around. Also why alt season posts bigger gains than btc bull run. Though there is less market cap and volatility in alts than btc, there is 1000+ alts to soak up the now educated, more serious investment fomo. Sv or not, Block size or transaction speed/cost doesn't matter at this point, I don't know a single person that buys btc for anything but investment purposes, and has only spent it on really damn rare occasion to say that they've bought something with btc. it's not done for convenience, it's done for the novelty of it. Anything btc branded other than btc is quickly avoided as scam, regardless of fundamentals.

I agree. Btc is broken, and anyone with any experience knows this. Problem is the usage as money is still non-existent, yet the value is still being retained better than anything else in the crypto-sphere over any decent measure of time. Barring a Black swan event, which will catastrophically destroy the entire market, btc still is and so far will continue to be the entry gate to crypto, even if just to trade for other pairs. Fundamentally I'm not a btc maximalist. But I sure won't lie to you, I'm here for the gains.
