The concept of making it is very flawed. Life isn't so much about what you have, but what you do. Financial security seems ideal to many because freedom from the stresses of not having enough money, freedom to buy what you like without having to think about it, freedom from a boss who you hate working for, but generally these issues can be resolved without 'making it' and most likely, if you are in those positions you are unlikely to make it and likely to get fucking ripped.

Still here. played the 2017 bull market beautifully.

Started with about 30k by Jan 2018 reached a peak of 4 million.

cashed out some but not nearly enough and then lost most of it in the bear market. played pumps here and there but still lost 80%.

Still though, I was up huge considering any type of investment vehicle out there. but still lost alot from 4M. I Not including what I cashed out and saved I had 100k of trading money left mid 2018.

Today, my investment account is about 1M+ and because changed from trading to hodling, been holding my investment for over a year, I wont get hit with a 40% tax. It will only be about 18%. So feeling much better. I think I will be at 10x in about 8 months.

Thats my story. Open to questions. AMA.

Similar for me, albeit smaller numbers. Shortly lived peak at 2M (unfortunately a good chunk of it still locked in ICOs that would later fail), didn't cash out shit (because my aim from crypto has always been to be made, not middle class), and current portfolio at about $500k.

>>16099958
What some anons forget is that cashing out large sums of crypto wasn't that simple not so long ago. The only stablecoin available in Jan 2018 was Tether (FUDed to death), not many reliable exchanges (eg: if I had cashed out in Jan 2018, I likely would have used QUADRIGA, so who knows how that would have went), and the tax implications were still far from clear (and not really something I personally wanted to deal with yet at the time).

It's a shakespearean situation honestly. It's like having a 14 inch dick but being asexual. When BTC hit 20k, I was the first of my friends and on CT telling everyone that we are going back to 4k. I knew BTC was in a bubble. I had this experience before trading the dotcom era.

My miscalculation was that I felt that Ethereum was ready to pass BTC. According to market dominance they came close to passing each other a few months before and I felt that Crypto was moving away from "cryptocurrency" and towards a more enterprise usefulness of "cryptoutilities"

Huge huge mistake. I was new to crypto, started in 2017, so I didn't know the effect of a crashing BTC would have on the overall market.

I still think that crytpoutilities will eventually dominate crypot market cap but it may take a few years.

Yes, I have some advice.

1. Don't day trade. This is not the enviroment to day trade. We are not in the 2017 bull market where you can close your eyes, pick something, and then wake up to 10x the next day. Yes it was like that.

2. Do some fundamental Analysis on a crypto project. One that you feel is necessarry for B2B and the network. Invest in that for the next 2 years. This is what happens in every parabolic industry. It always starts with Enterprise usage. From there it moves to B2C. Theres only a few right now so the choice is easy

Binance, I might get hit. But I filed my SOME crypto earnings in 2017 and 2018. So I think im good. Also, the laws haven't been ironed out yet so the IRS might just want to see some kind of claim to show "good faith" so a crypto acountant tells me.

I did my taxes the best i could. Claiming only that of what I THINK the irs is seeing. But I did file.

Again, the IRS hasn't ironed out what the laws are because each department thinks cryptos is a different department. One dept, sees it as a commodity. another sees it as money, etc... This gives us leeway for right now

>>16100602

Look, im gonna mention this and a lot of you are gonna give me crap but Chainlink is the best play right now.

Yes, its been shilled hard on Biz for the last year and half but for good reason.

Why?

1. I believe Smartcontracts is the true intended purpose of Blockchain.
2. A bet on Smartcontracts is a bet on Chainlink. Without Chainlink Smartcontracts won't work. ETH, ADA, NEO, ALL of these smartcontract platforms and other middle layer projects that are part of the blockchain stack MUST USE Chainlink in order to connect to real world legacy systems and do what they are intended to do. Without Chainlink all these projects are dead in the water.

Price appreciation.

I believe what a few have been saying. because Oracles are needed to connect realworld data to smartcontracts/blockchain we are essentially talking about Web 3.0. (Web 2.0 is the interenet). But this time Chainlink does something HTTPS or TCP/IP doesnt do. LINK allows you to capture the value of the data running through the Oracle network. DCV, Data Capture Value.

currently Chainlink is the only project that has DCV bennifits. So the more data running through the network to smartcontrats the higher the LINK price.

LINK is at $2.60 right now. I truly believe that it is the last project to do a BTC or ETH run. Its simple.

BTC - CryptoCurrency
ETH - Smartcontracts
LINK - Oracles

All three are needed to make blockchain useful. Think about it....

Some here are gonna hate me for saying it but you want an honest opinnion. im giving it.

Oh, I forgot to give my prediction.

Well, I've been buying LINK since .25c. Held it since june 2018 and continue to buy on any dips.

I wouldn't be suprised if we hit $10+ by 2020 Jan. Realistically it could be flucuate from $6-$12 in dec to jan. But I think it will eventually take #3 spot from XRP.

Why?

Cause all the projects in front of Chainlink are crap right now. My goodness Tron is still sitting at 10. So all these crap projects and XRP in my opinnion shoud be well below LINK. Just so you know Chainlink right now at #3 would be a price of $30. I think this will happen in the next 4 to 6 months. This is working with the same overall crypto market cap right now.

If, there is another bull run. I think Chainlink will come close if not over $1000.

why? Becase at #3 LINK would have touched $400 the last bull market of 2017(according to XRP market cap) So its logical to think the next bull market will take us over that.

any more questions? about to peel out.

If you have a large holding then just hold on to LINK

If you working with a small amount of holding then I suggest selling half and diversifing. do the research and find another 10x.

I believe once Chainlink gets into the top #3. It will be come a holding place for big money.

the logic is this

If a guy told me he only has 10k right now I wouldn't tell him to invest in BTC or ETH because the appreciation would be slower then say a Chainlink (now), or a smaller coin in the future.

FA will be very difficult and it will be hard to find another great opertunity like a LINK but it can be done. You have to put some elbow into it and really research.

Diversify if you want to get rich faster. Im only suggesting this if you have small amounts of money to work with and you are willing to take the RISK.

The high is $4.50 around so anything under $3 right now is the dip. don't try and penny pinch. i dot a buddy who tries to penny pinch and buy things when they dip .10c - .20c or so. But he misses so many opertunites because sometimes these things just take off.

I don't agree with the last sentence. Diversify if you want to minimize risk. You can Diversify AFTER you've made it to minimize risk. But desu, everyone on this board just needs to all in link - there literally is no other asset on Earth at this moment that has as much promise to make you ungodly gainz. The problem is that you will need to wait 6-8 months like this anon said earlier. It's actually not that long

>> No.16101232

>>16101170
Agree with this. It's great if you could buy lower, but you can fuck yourself waiting. I remember waiting for link to drop when it was at .20 because I wanted to buy another fat stack at .18. Instead I was forced to buy in at .25 or something higher. If you get worried that you can buy lower just break your buys into parts and buy at different times. No time like the present tho

What you say is true.

This is just a suggestion. This is what I would do if I only had 10k to work with. Id very aggressive and put any profits back into LINK.

but yeah, you could just buy LINK hold it until the next bull run and retire. and your right. it might be the safer smarter play, especially if you are unsure how this space is going to move forward and don't have excellent FA skills.

ATTENTION US ANONS CONCERNED ABOUT TAXES

Puerto Rico is the only place on EARTH where you can pay 0 tax on gainz. If you move your residence to PR and stay there 6 months then you do not have to pay tax on ANY gain you made since first arriving in PR. Thats right, ZERO.

Many smart crypto traders have done this in 2017 - Brock Pierce saved hundreds of millions doing this. If you are wealthy enough to make 7 figures then you should seriously consider this as an option and talk to a lawyer. Personally, once CL hits $14 I am moving to PR and riding the wave up for at least 6 months. I expect to save millions while living on the beach, then cash out healthy gainz and move where ever I want.

This should be discussed here daily and I try to bring it up when I can.

honestly no difference .... except ... I take to much time thinking about small purchases.

I have pruchased a few more toys eg lego sets and it stuff, eg a few more ssds.

My wife basically does not bust my balls to much about buying stuff.

She has about 3~5 m from her own work

I keep thinking I should buy a 100K car volvo xc90 because of saftey and I would enjoy it .... and my portfolio can do 100~400k up and down a day no worries.

It's funny really, me and a few friends just invested on a whim while still in college, my folks are rich tho so I had Savings, allowance and a job all I invested on bitcoin best part of vidya hobby is lower spending. Made a few million, I also invested on eth during its infancy while it was in cents, made just as much profit from that too.

I've worked for several years after college, it's surreal realizing that I am living the life that my workmates want, and being wealthier than my boss. Got fired resigned and all that, I had no real need to grovel for work like other wagies and I feel bad for them.

Finally hit 500k net worth between my small business and crypto gains. Bought a little 80k house twenty five minutes from the city and fixed it up completely all by myself.

At one point I was wage slaving 10x harder because I had a gf and wanted to get a McMansion and to support the unending amount of shit she needed to be happy. I cried so much when she left, but I had no idea it was the start of a better life.

Now I work about 15 hours a week, just to get out of the house and pay for my expenses. I bought a kickass home gym and spend the rest of the day watching movies and shitposting.

I will never go back to the stress of being a wage slave or having a normie relationship ever again. I know this isn't making it by most people on here's standards, but I feel like I crawled out of a mile long pit in life.
