Juul has suffered enough this year, trying to deliver a superior and revolutionary product to the people who want to buy it.
Whatever "tainted" pods this Rajeesh is trying to do the needful about have already been smoked. Guess what? No one died, no one complained. The pods weren't tainted. What is tainted is our sick and Jewified anti-Juul culture.

Identify the reasoning behind the mistake and see if there is something you can change to remove the possibility of making that type of mistake in future. Now, keep in mind there are no perfect strategies. All experience drawdown, all get caught in fake outs. The idea is to minimize the amount you lose in these failed trades relative to the amount you gain in successful trades.

I'm gonna guess that you're younger than me, because we've been hearing that same line for the last 20 years. And I'm sure we'll be hearing still 20 years from now. Remember "supersize me" and the hot coffee thing, and then Subway and chipotle and other burger places rising up (five guys, in n out). Guess what, Ronald is still here and he's still a big boy.

I'm not saying they're a trillion dollar company, but they can roll with the punches.
McDonalds has faced all kinds of challenges and they've responded reasonably without going crazy and changing who they are. That's the important thing in terms of their management: they will look for room to improve without trying to become something else. What they are is a cheap convenient burger (and other food) joint. And so they shall remain.

Also Jalapeno McChicken is their best cyclical menu item and the ONLY chicken-based sandwich that you should be ordering, unless you're ordering some of their mcNuggy based sandwiches from the secret premium elite menu.

I'm pretty good at repairing electrical stuff (it's my job).
So a repairable, electric vehicle that isn't plasticy would be great. Of course they'll never make something like that :/
I have the same issue with electric lawnmowers. The body is all plastic, so they feel like absolute garbage to use.

Well ain't this nice, GE earnings very bright with a nice stock price spike. PCG still on the upswing trend this day, even as the fires still rage and is getting very close to burning down Regan's library. Forgot to mention this the other night but I bought some Fitbit stock on a whim Tuesday. Hey, from what all I read about them, they're growing pretty good so even if the Google deal don't happen I got a feeling the stock will rise given time. Google's looking to unload some Heavy Green bags (they got to much cash apparently) so the Fitbit thing should happen without much trouble. Fitbit can say basically "this is the amount we want" and Google will fork it over. So on the downside, no Google stock via the backdoor cheap like, but at least you'd get a nice Heavy Bag of Green.

Alphabet (Google) isn't the only one holding big bags of cash. Apple, Buffet, the usual suspects are all looking for things to buy, but not finding it the past couple of years.
Jerome might consider edging a bit north of the 2% inflation target (symmetric) to try and get some extra juice into the system.

I mean companies should be allowed to hold big old bags of money if they want, but if lots of places are holding tens or hundreds of Billions USD, the FedReserve can tweak a couple things to encourage them to spend some of it.
Just imagine a half trillion extra dollars flowing into the economy, being spent on [something] all at the same time. Wow.

that's just the way things are right now :(
I would prefer anything to share buybacks. Dividends, increased Capex, etc. But they way the system is set up right now, companies (management, specifically) is incentivized to make as much money as possible, spend as little as possible, and boost their share price.

I have adjusted my widgets slightly. They are now less twitchy. I'm trying to move away from twitchy inklings of bullish trend indication to reasonably probable inkingles of bullish trend. The one kink I have with this new system is it's tendency to kick back erroneous signals from a stock trading along a flattish snibby range. By snibby range I mean the kind of shit Microsoft has been doing this year from end of July to the break out a couple days ago. That kind of snib on daily chart is brutal for the kind of trend based strategy I am trying to build here. It's a great backtest case for indicator based systems though.

No. Trump said the Chinese are paying the tariffs, which is factually incorrect. Tariffs are an import tax. Trump is more than capable of saying that the benefit of the tariffs outweighs the consequence. He chooses not to, and I suspect that is deliberate. I’m not sure if it’s because it baits people into disagreeing with him, or if it’s because it’s just more catchy and simple for his base to understand.

The whole purpose of the report was to prove that americans DID pay for the tariffs, but when the supply chain gradually changed (which obviously would take some time) everything would just go back to normal. There's still work to be done BUT from the data they have, the things Trump said (that the supply chain would change and China becoming less and less needed by US companies/consumers) looks to be legit.
Short term turmoil for long term success without the chinese influencing US companies/consumers, is that not worth it? I don't think people realize that if Trump really wanted to, he could pump the DOW above 30k. I think someone made some calculations about just that and they came to the conclussion that the S&P for example would have been near 4k (basically skipping the 2018 drop) if Trump just ignored fighting China and everyone else.
The source is US bureau of census, UBS calculation.

Alright fuck it. Fuck it all I'm making the planned grand strategy switcheroo TODAY. I was hoping to do this after my current batch of trades did whatever they were going to do, however, I don't like the look of the volume on the indexes this week at all.

Grand strat is just relegate individual stock picks to a maximum of 15% of portfolio. Remaining 85% reserved for S&P and Nasdaq 100 2x long swings and potentially occasional shorts if things get really bearish.

State of indexes today: no long no short no nuffin.
