But you should definitely buy land anyway. Buy land, build a house, start a family. That way when you die, your kids can sell your property and all the stuff they don't want. Then the next family can buy it and remodel the entire thing to repeat the process until it's eventually abandoned and occupied as a drug den and/or occupied by homeless squaters who will rip the walls apart, and draw dicks on the walls.

This. It's even worse than serfdom because under serfdom your lord pretty much left you alone for most of your life; you were only really called upon to fight and pay tax. Apart from that, you had it pretty good with the church looking after you and half of your year dedicated to holidays (holy-days).

The present system is worse than serfdom because you have to work all-year round with no holidays if you ever want to break free from the chains put upon you by the democratic sovereign through usury, financial repression and penal taxation. Oh and there's no church, morality has gone down the shitter and your country is flooded with people who look nothing like you (and are nothing like you) and see you as their spiritual enemy. The kicker is that if there ever was a major war that required our services we would no doubt be conscripted.

Actually, it seems political affiliations somehow have become our religion and idols.
I stumbled across a book last year that broke my way of thinking; slavery was less profitable than the wagie.
Slavery

The slave is a very expensive piece of machinery very prone to failure

Conversely, the wagie, for a few pennies:

>Don't have to provide for his family
