Hi all, I was hoping one of you guys here would be able to provide some advice for a total noob. How does one get started into stock market trading, what is the most basic 101 to start with?

And how does one choose a broker if I live outside of the USA. I'm based in UK.

The U.S education/employment system is fucking broke,scam, etc. Some jobs don't require a college degree in order to do them. College used to be more about learning than the money aspect of it. Now how much they can rake in is the overriding goal. Jobs used to be posted with realistic expectations/edu requirements. Now? Good luck. Soon college will no longer be an "optional" thing rather it will be a "mandatory" thing if you want any job at all. (even some low end shit at MCD's) Also think college is expensive as fuck now, just wait 18- 19 years when your kids gotta go (if you got any)

those 2 are cheaper than saxo markets. If you plan to trade mostly US stocks and some Uk stocks, go with schwab. Otherwise Ibkr. But again, in the future i think GBP will appreciate against USD so you have to find a way to hedge the currency risk.

Banks have to be willing to deal with each other for the repo market to function. Normally it's one bank buys another banks treasuries and buys them back the next day...but if the fed doesn't step in, banks will fail because they don't have enough cash to operate.

We saw back in September that the overnight repo rate went up to 10%, which is obviously outside of the fed funds rate. The fed didn't like that very much

I have a couple investment businesses and I just came across a guy that has been developing real estate for 40 years and wants to teach me so I can carry on the business to take care of his kids. I do the community college because I don't feel like paying a lot of money for a degree I don't need.. But if our oil producers lose some money we can subsidize them. The benefits to the rest of our economy are enough. And cheap oil puts the hurt on "the bad guys" in the middle east, Russia, Venezuela, etc.
