Quite simply - you have no guarantees. I've heard from some that when they turned in their two weeks notice, they terminated that worker right away. Some employers do this due to the security risks, or whatever. Bottom line - they don't owe you anything and you don't owe them anything.

Depends on the employment contract.

90% of the time it's up to the employer if they wanna keep you around for 2 weeks or fire you on the spot without pay.

Only other way is if your employment contract gaurantees some kind of severance
