I figure this is the right board to post this.
Need to pay off $8000 on a card, no one wants to give me another card to balance transfer, and I can only give about $200 bucks a month as a result of working part time. Just paying minimums at the moment because it's literally all I can pay since I'm a full time student. I figured I'd be able to get a personal loan and maybe pay it off over a 48-month period. Is that my best course of action? And if so what kind of company would lend that kind of money to my sorry ass?

Why did you even make that debt? Was it for an investment that didn't work out or were you simply not thinking?

Not investing anything, I've never touched any crypto in my life, it didn't start very high but snowballed as a result of my own negligence. I was able to negotiate one of my cards, Amex said I can put the card on hold and pay it off over a period with a 7% APR in exchange the account is essentially closed until the balance is paid off, but Citi wasn't that generous. There's nothing I can do about it now but pay denbts

OP, you need Dave Ramsey in your life. Barring that, bankruptcy is like $1500.

Cutting spending isn't the issue, I live with parents and almost never go out and spend money on anything that isn't gas to go to school and work. Problem is I only get $6-700 a month and I have to pay phone and internet bills for the family as that's what we agreed upon for me to not pay them car insurance which would be much worse. Already submitted job applications to every shitty retail job in the vicinity, no idea what to do for money

How do you build up that much debt on a credit card? Are you a nigger? What the fuck is wrong with you?
Stop getting credit cards you fucking dumbass.

So you're trying to get a lower rate basically? Refinancing to a new card? I'm surprised nobody would take your balance transfer. Interest rates are low and people should be glad to refinance you unless your credit history is actual garbage

Ok well focus on paying down Citi at all costs then, 7% apr is quite generous

It's not the worst but just due to the high balance it drives my score way the fuck down.

I'm doing by best but end up coming just even every month with not a single dollar to spend on myself. No money because of interest, high interest because no money to pay off debt.
Is there any company willing to take it and let me pay say over a 48 month period? I don't even care if the interest is as high as 20% I'll take any single dollar I can get at this point

A personal loan is probably gonna have around 10% interest. Better than the 24% that Citi is charging you at least.

I don't mind getting one, but is anyone really gonna give a loan of $8000 to someone who makes not even double of that a year? Do I just lie about the income? I've already tried to get pre-approved at a couple different places and all say the same thing it's that simply I make jack shit

Yeah I think the best course of action is to just simply work more, even if it kills me. I've already started applying to every shitty retail job in a radius around my home, even gamestop and ross and shit department stores. I'll find something, even if I gotta be a janitor

I don't fucking know, my expenses aren't high. The only things I buy nowadays are gas and food, cheap food I may add. Like $1 mcchickens cheap. Back then I used the cards to buy only minor things, like a computer and room furniture, eating at restaurants. It accumulated up the arse before I realized anything was wrong.
>>16018858
What do you mean efficiently? I'm an EE student so an internship would save my life but no experience means no work and no work means no experience to get a job, the usual cycle of shit students find themselves in. What other work is there?
