This guy got 98% upvotes, people don't seem to realize that guys like him having 6 properties is what contributes to the housing shortage.

Is it greedy people upvoting this lifestyle?

This is what I mean, why are you guys upvoting the guy with 6 properties? Do you not realizing that 1 guy having 6 properties means there will be at least 5 guys with 0 properties who will be indebted to the first guy? Or are you just greedy?

Anyway the video is a bit humbling, I like to spend my time appreciating nature and the arts, something you can't do if you work that much. Though I'm also getting a degree for a job which is in the 85th-90th percentile for salaries

What do you mean "duh?"

I think there is a misconception about work and the guy in the OP is a case in point, he doesn't work to live, he lives to work. He's industrious. There is no way this guy is going to call it quits and become a video game playing shut-in NEET once he reaches his goal of 1 million buckaroos. He's going to keep working because that's how he's wired. Many of us are shut in NEETS who are praying for the LINK singularity, we might get rich with it but we are definitely not conscientious and industrious people.

Also this topic should make you wonder what the point of work is if you don't get the time to spend your money. Retiring early is a pipe dream for almost everybody.

Let me EDUCATE you

44% of 22-27 yr old college grads are underemployed (inb4 just do computer science as if everyone is capable of that. Even they have like a 24ish% underemployment rate for 22-27 yr olds: https://www.newyorkfed.org/research/college-labor-market/college-labor-market_compare-majors.html
Think about that. NEARLY 1/4 cs graduates aged 22-27 will be underemployed (don't know how it evens out over time. Still not amazing though. It's around 34% when including all ages and all majors). Also 1/4 college grads make highschool wages.
7/10 graduate with 29k+ in debt.

78% of full time workers live paycheck to paycheck ( *LITERALLY one paycheck away from homelessness and that is basically poverty* ). *42% of americans will retire broke* (so you give up the best years of your life being someone's bitch just to retire with nothing), 57% of americans can't afford an unexpected 500 dollar bill, 50% of renters are cost burdened (spend over 30% of their income on rent. Half of those spend over 50% of their income on rent), 30% of metropolis city jobs (where most jobs are created) pay hardship wages (not enough to move out with) and 32% pay livable wages (basically poverty) which leaves 38% that are decent (I say decent because you also have to take into consideration the toxicity of work culture. Also, some jobs ONLY pay livable or up BECAUSE of the hours put in. For instance, the average american works 47 hours a week. 49% work 50 hours or more a week. Both of which inflate the wage stats into looking better than it actually is), etc.

Welcome to the "land of opportunity" (load of bullshit).

This has to be fake, I keep seeing it pop up everywhere. Everyone I see has a smartphone, goes out for drinks, has pets, children, subscriptions to redundant upon redundant services, and more. People are doing pretty well right now financially, at least in the US. How do they figure the average person lives paycheck to paycheck or can't afford an unexpected $500 bill? I live in a nice place in the city because I don't like driving and keep a very full bar and blow money on stupid little projects all the time but I still manage to invest about half my paycheck. I do work a lot of overtime but I could cut my hours to just 8 shifts a month and still live very comfortably going out and shit. I think the stats are fake or at least heavily manipulated. If it is real then it's weird to think we're so much smarter than the typical person. I could understand being just 10 or 20 times smarter, but if living paycheck to paycheck then they shouldn't be counted as people. 120k USD is ~100k in Euros let's assume both are before taxes

For the Burger:
>70-90k after Taxes depending on location
>Assuming employer based health care -10k in co pays and premiums on average/year
>Left with 60k-80k to spend freely on living costs
>Fucked beyond belief in the case of disease that loses you your job possible financial ruin
>No unemployment benefits unless insured, which costs roughly another 5-15k

For yurop(Germany in this case):
>65k after taxes
>Healthcare, unemployment, disabillity all contained in the tax
>65k to spend on living costs

Your wage is not the only thing an employer pays in yurop, there are "wage labor costs" which amount to 1.8 times the wage of an employee( at least in my country, Austria). In the US because they have such a shit system that basically coveres nothing and you're shit out of luck if anything ever happens to you, the employer can afford to pay higher wages, because he has less wage labor costs.

>and our great social security system is already crumbling tehre are plenty of retirees collecting bottles just to survive
That's mostly because of exorbitant living costs. Local and federal governments too afraid of telling foreign real estate investors to fuck off.
Also, its parasites cashing out exorbitant pension fucking up the system for everybody. Why does a politican get a 50k pension? Why does a federal banker get a pension of 160k? Is that really fair?

> In the US you could get a high paying job, work for two decades and retire, good luck doing that in Germany.
The grass is always greener on the other side. Go there if you don't believe me, see with your own eyes, it's not as simple as you make it out to be.

>it's not as simple as you make it out to be.
it is very simple you just try to make it complicated by going on all kinds of tangents like infrastructure, quality of living and whatnot. the United States is the richest country on the planet and with a modicum of drive even a total brainlet can clear six figures. this is simply not the case in even rich european countries. Ive been to the US and I actually work for a US company and get paid in USD so I get the best of both worlds. but its always fat entitled amerimutts who whine about lack of opportunities when a lot of people would kill to make their salaries

I don't kow, 20 years with basically no vacation days, very few sick days and 60h/week would probably give me a heart attack. I couldn't and wouldn't do it, no matter how much money you would give me.

I havent had a sick day in seven years anon. the 60h/week number you completely made up and you also get paid personal time on top of vacation, still less than europe but not as bad as youre trying to make it look. at the end of the day if you want to make money the US is 10x better than yurop its not even a discussion.
