JUUL support the flavor ban because they will survive just fucking fine and dandy selling Tobacco flavoured cartridges. It's a very, very small price to pay for eliminating 99% of competition, especially when they can just fund a new inquest into the safety of flavours in a few years' time, get them pushed back to market and continue selling nicotine to children just like they always have.

Meanwhile, studies continue to show that vaping is essentially the only answer to cigarette addiction. The rest of the world haven't had any of these issues, and (Aside from Australia) are carrying on as normal, selling them in hospitals and referring people to vape shops as part of their quit programs.

I've been a two pack a day smoker for 20 years and took up vaping two months ago. Haven't had a cigarette since I fired up the AIO kit I got. Oxygen saturation before quitting was 92-91, it's now sitting at 99. At the same time, every time I re-fill I dilute the solution to lower nicotine levels. Cheers, as someone who's 'quit' before the NRT funded by big tobacco is completely useless and intentionally difficult. Nicotine gum makes you throw up with how awful it is, nicotine sprays leave ulcers in your mouth, champix has a 50/50 chance of giving you a secondary mental illness and nicotine patches are nothing more than a placebo that make your skin just itchy enough to remind you to have a cigarette.

I'll stop habitual smoking eventually. I plan to get to the point where I can just enjoy a nice smoke when out camping, or worst case once in the morning and once at night after dinner. It is enjoyable and ultimately that's why I smoked, but the reason I didn't stop is because of the addiction. My smoking was costing me over $200 a week here in Australia. Vaping seems far less compulsive than smoking, I go maybe four hours at a time between a few puffs.
