Can someone explain why exactly ChainLink is necessary?
Couldn't you already achieve all of the same using Ethereum?
Not trolling, genuinely want to know this.

The LINK token has native capabilities, such as transferandcall, that ETH does not have.

>>15970732
Ok, but you could implement those capabilities in ETH. Why do they need to be "native"?

The LINK token is an ERC677 token that inherits functionality from the ERC20 token standard and allows token transfers to contain a data payload.

Keeping the networks separate helps with scaling. At the end of the day, the LINK is still just an ERC that relies on ETH mn, and soon other blockchains.

Even if ETH had the 677 token capabilities, LINK is blockchain agnostic, so it is not limited to the ETH main net.

That is the entire concept of ETH you do these things in agile less encumbered dapps running on top of ETH.
This is a core principle of the project as a whole (ETH).
If you tried to mainline even a fraction of this code you would be held up in stage 1 of "can this be done in a dapp?".
But you were not looking for an explanation were you? You allready made your mind up and came here trying to troll with your Reddit tier know it all attitude even though you have never participated in anything outside of what Mr Sheckleberg tells you to do at work.

We've been found out boys, it was a good run.

ERC20 already supports data payload in transactions

>Keeping the networks separate helps with scaling.
Helps, but does not solve the scaling problem, just delays it. In other words, it does nothing to solve it, but it does balkanize the blockchains even further.

You are absolutely right OP, very smart. Do not buy Link. Keep buying other coins.

What anons sad +its reputation based so it acually needs its own token unlike rest of scams

>>15970800
LINK is blockchain agnostic but it will share eths faith no doubt since its ballsdeep on eth acually functioning right now (no you do not jsut swap chains whitout asking everyone to wait 2 years so you migrate lol)

please elaborate on that
I dont intend to troll or bait or pretend to be retarded, but I never understood this

You could use something else as a collateral, but then the Oracle network would be dependent of outside market conditions.

Chainlink in theory is supposed to be some sort of POS 2nd layer that aggregates information requested by various blockchains, actually really good stuff. In reality it's a centralized piece of shit that in 3 years achieved nothing beyond oraclize, a traditional centralized oracle. Quite embarrassing that the scam is still going on.
