This. Google/Twitter/etc. is popular with normies because the UI is simple AND it's easy to say out loud. If Google was called Grithle it wouldn't have worked. Also try not to put two consonants together, because if it's called Gribble or w/e idiots are going to go to grible.com, so you'll need to register that too if you still want their traffic (and to prevent scammers from registering it).
Checkout namemesh.com and similar sites for help picking a name that's also got domains available. Traditional TLDs (.com, .net, .org) are best for SEO, but if you've got good content it can still work with the newer TLDs.
The best names are ones that sound like words but aren't words. Combining two existing words might work too, but most of those domains will be taken.

Also, web dev market is oversaturated. Normies that want a cheap site will just use a cheap hoster that includes an easy UI that doesn't require knowing HTML, or they'll just use WordPress.
To make it in web dev you'd need to target a specific niche, and/or offer something your competition isn't offering.
