Nah. I made less than that in the Army at that age. Got out, became a cop and hated my life for about 5 years. Went into sales during what one could call a midlife crisis now I made $500k in the last 9 months.

You can find *something* else, and it's painful to transition (I've done it several times), but there's no reward without risk.

Get good. I recommend the audiobooks "Be a Sales Superstar" and "The Psychology of Selling" by Brian Tracy, and "The Way of the Wolf" by Jordan Belfort. Listen to those like seven times each. Gather intelligence on the industry you want to break into, and then ones of the companies you want to work for, and then apply to said company. At the interview don't look like a dipshit. I recommend taking a low dose of a beta blocker such as metoprolol to lower your heart rate, and maybe even a low dose of an anxiolytic like Xanax if you have performance anxiety. Not a "fun" dose, and Xanax is addictive and too much makes you an idiot so "experiment" and practice and role play with friends and family before the interview.

Most importantly, find an industry that has high commissions, is reputable and in demand. Don't go MLM, don't become a Door Ding salesman driving around parking lots looking for cars with dents so you can ambush people on the spot.
