GUYS HOW CAN WE SHORT THE NEW WORLD ORDER?????

https://thehill.com/opinion/international/466047-america-adrift-trump-has-ended-the-post-world-war-ii-era
http://archive.fo/Wo6HG
>The Trump administration — inadvertently or purposefully — is accelerating the collapse of the post-World War II international order, an order constructed by America and its allies which built the institutions and global systems that served as a historical force for global peace and prosperity for decades.

>The post-World War II order advanced core American interests; the U.S., along with similarly valued Western European allies, defeated Soviet communism, thereby eliminating an existential nuclear threat. This order also unleashed unparalleled economic opportunity in the heartland; America served as the engine of global growth typically through vast commercial deals denominated in dollars, written in English and under U.S. laws.

>After 1945, all presidents made the effective functioning of the international order a foundational foreign policy priority — including, of course, President Trump’s GOP forebears Eisenhower, Reagan and Bush 41, in particular, who embodied global leadership as part of their presidential DNA.

>No international ordering system lasts forever. After 75 years, the post-World War II order is ripe for disruption. President Trump, however, has poured accelerant on this system, collapsing it with no strategy for a new 21st century global structure that protects national interests, preserves U.S. leadership and reflects American values. In fact, President Trump has taken steps which unwittingly cede the runway to our global and regional adversaries to challenge American leadership.

I decided to invest some money last week after being on the fence about it for a few months. 12 grand. Index fund returns over the last few years have been positive, 5% - 30% over the last 5-6 years. Beats inflation. Read shit like best time to invest is yesterday. Stay the course. Even through ups and downs decent returns over 10-20 years. I'm down 0.18% already lol.

Of course I've got to start somewhere and having a platform and making some trades and seeing how it goes is part of the experience and process of learning, but ... yeah the more Iook at it and learn the more it seems like maybe I should have waited for a crash before buying in, we seem to be at the peak of a historic bull market, US stocks are overpriced and due a correction, prices in nearly everything were 5-10% lower in January. Maybe I should cash back out and wait until some awful news and drop and then buy in then.

Thing is ... everybody says don't try to time the market. Get on it. Stay the course etc. Also I kind of feel that should the market take a fall, then people will move into bonds, currency and precious metals etc, this will probably reduce the buying power of my currency when trying to purchase foreign stocks.

Tough. At the end of the day I don't really care if I lose say... 30% of my investment and it takes 5 years to recover. More than 30% and more than 10 years to recover is about my limit to risk.

Alright frens I have an old mutual fund that I've been holding for like 10 years because it was a gift. And the management is absolutely shit. It's doing pretty bad, and I reviewed some of their decisions in the annual mailing to investors.

They fucking sold CVS at the bottom. Just when it became interesting, they decided to cut their losses at least, that's what it looks like, they bought Q3 and Q4 2018, and sold Q1 2019.

And they're taking a 1.12% net expense ratio for that performance, -1.34% 52 week return.

Question is, am I fucking myself by creating a taxable event? Is there a way to lessen this, or is this the right time to do it if I've also realized some losses this year? I've probably taken more net-profits than losses though.

Can I transfer this holding directly to an IRA or something, then sell it and not take the tax hit?

Is there a good guide to this stuff, and am I forgetting other downsides besides the taxable event?

A stupid person, however, will need to be led to the site by imbeciles like you, who have not thought this through, land on the website, and then not know what to do with the keys to the kingdom. And the only time I put things in the OP, it's the fluff parts, which is IMO the only fun part about the whole thing.

We should be encouraging people to do their own research as much as possible. We haven't had a single thread this year where there isn't some rando that comes in and asks a question that can be answered by copying their question into google and clicking the first link. People really are getting dumbed down and needing spoonfeeding out there, I see it on 4chan and in my work life. Grown ass people who KNOW how to use google will just... not. I’m going to stay away from CRON - it looks like the time to buy was before close. I assume it opens and hovers where very little gains may come.

My picks in this sector for a long time have been APHA, CGC and OGI. I may add more CGC tomorrow - it seems inevitable and my source hinted that STZ will be taking them out altogether too, hopefully around $35 USD a share.

I anticipate TAP will buyout HEXO at some point if this edible thing gets going like it should. APHA and OGI are just solid companies, but their stocks are both punished. They could easily see partnerships that would do to them what happened to CGC back in the day.

Alright, so obviously one CAN use options to protect a short position, as I speculated, but I have to wonder how often this strategy is used? A straddle or a strangle I think, but I just call it hedging. I don’t think options requires any IQ, I don’t use options to buy stocks or anything. I actually don’t even know how that works kek. I literally just predict price action, buy same week expiration option call or put, it moves a few pennies, I’m in profit, I sell. Rinse and repeat forever. If I buy 10 contracts on something and price moves 10 cents in my favor, I’ve made $100. I don’t do any fancy strategies at all, just plain ass calls and puts. Options are a good way to get around daytrading law too because before I got a margin account I could still do a bunch of trades. Now that I have margin I can really do this shit all day because the money clears immediately so you don’t use up buying power desu. I got into it with a friend who started out scalping stocks and then got into options.

Top false equivalence. Building survival skills is wise, hedging against disaster is wise, praying for a collapse because the race you happened to be born into is supreme and the god you happened to be raised with is on your side is fucking stupid. Wherever you live happens to be the rightful homeland of your race?
