This reminds me of some song by Drake about how he can never find true love because everyone he meets is a gold digger. My girlfriend expressed that she felt genuine pity for Drake because of this. Apparently Drake is so good looking and his voice is so good and he has so much money that apparently women will feel whichever emotion he tells them to feel, exactly when he tells them to feel it. This forced me to confront Drake's total victory over me, who he doesn't even know, and my complete and total inadaquacy because he's set for life with fuck you money, and he tells my girlfriend to feel sorry for him because he's so rich and she does it because he so attractive. So, to answer, money and looks means total victory over all other men, including countless men you've never even met.

So. Much. This.

I made a TON of money in the last bullrun from $ETH and $NANO, but I didn't feel complete until I met my better half. Nothing compares to the feeling I get coming home from work and seeing my wife and her son.

Happiness is a momentary absense from pain. It collapses to boredom/ennui the next moment.

Money can remove some pains.

It has to be better than living paycheck to paycheck and still having in the back of your mind that maybe even that paycheck won't come through when you lose your shitty job.

It doesn't. You have a happiness set point. Good or bad things happen and it's a temporary change.

Hedonistic treadmills, change your set point and you can change your life.

The hedonic treadmill is asymmetric. Bad things can happen to you that permanently lower it (set point), but there's nothing good enough that will permanently raise it.

AKA Life is shit.

That is true. I was saying having enough money to the point where you know you aren't going to be on the corner with a schizo homeless veteran potentially within a week brings a nice sense of security.
