Is 5 BTC enough to make it or is crypto fucking dead?

You can definitely live of that in a decade easy. You can stop wageslaving sooner than that. Only got 1.2 btc here.

Read the whitepaper. Bitcoin is p2p cash and BTC is an attempt to hijack and distract the revolution.

I'm confused. I'm talking about bitcoin. I thought you were going to shill Bitcoin SV or something

Nah man. Bitcoin is an ideal. You get to choose but it must be scalable to become world money. BTC is not scalable.

>> No.15833844

>>15833793
Was the internet scalable? Bitcoin is a secure foundation for technologies to be built on. Sure people may not transact with bitcoin directly, but transactions will be pegged to it.

>people may not transact with bitcoin directly
This misses the entire point of the revolution.
Closed loop economies must overcome fiat swaps and it cannot happen with BTC.

I have an open mind, I just find it hard to believe that Bitcoin will be surpassed and people will just have to find ways to deal with its shortcomings. Can you explain what you mean by BTC is not bitcoin, I am not following.

>> No.15833988

>>15833934
The whitepaper is titled:
Bitcoin a p2p electronic cash system
It goes on to describe a way for people to exchange value without any intermediary. That was the intended purpose of BTC.
Now it's being treated as a type of gold that you never touch and if people try to use it as currency, the fees spike making it unreliable as a medium of exchange. BTC has been defanged.
Thats what I mean that BTC is not bitcoin. It is designed to fail to be the people's money under load, only giving an illusion of a revolution that will fail upon adoption.

>> No.15834058

>>15833988
Are we just waiting to see a potential replacement of a similar design take its place then? I definitely agree that as it is, BTC can't work on it's own. I will always keep my eye on what may come up in the future but for now, BTC may fund the revolution so I am holding it. I think I have been a bit clouded by the idea that something akin to the lightning network will solve the problems, but I guess it kind of defeats the purpose. I'm still not confident that the normal user will care and the "revolution" will still happen with BTC but quickly crippled with centralization.

>> No.15834114

You're missing the picture with such a laser focus on BTC in particular. These new decentralized payment systems will eventually replace the decaying centralized systems we currently use. Crypto is never dead because it has actual utility.
