It's called buywalls and sellwalls as well.
And just as horizontal res/supp exist, diagonal ones exist as well. Wedges in these can help you find critical points where price can become very volatile upwards or downwards.

Not to lines are completely useless, but the useful info they give can be glanced at, and doesn't tell the future, only the past. You gotta put everything in a psychological context before making predictions.

You gotta look at the movement, and figure out why it moved like that, what kind of players are playing, what were they thinking/hoping and why. And from that point you can try to figure out what it's gonna happen next.

Even if lots of people were using it, the fitting process is so arbitrary that fits from different people wouldn't fit with each other. Fuck, it even has a 50% level which is not even from the fibonacci series.

But hey, don't take my word for it. If it's legit, surely someone already did the relatively simple task of running 2 retracement algorithms through historical data (one 'fib' and the other something else for control) and showed fib has an advantage in prediction of future movement. Except no one has done that, because it doesn't work.
