why, as a trader, should I use this dogshit illiquid exchange over coinbase? using coinbase pro the fees are 0.25%, and even less if you are trading size.

What many people like you don't seem to understand is that regulations ARE coming to crypto.
Why do you think Binance had to make a separate entity for US?
Why do you think countless small exchanges shut down? Because with enforced KYC there's no reason to trade with them anymore.

Binance fled to Malta with a regulatory framework that is not up to par with EU/US.
This allows them to push out all their products (which are just buyouts) without worry.
But when regulation really starts being enforced, Binance has no chance to survive. They've fucked up with the regulatory authorities in the rest of the world.

Coinmetro, Coinbase, Kraken, and a few others, are exchanges operating by the book.
Coinbase is an expensive normie exchange.
Kraken doesn't offer a lot of services.
Coinmetro offers everything these guys does, and so many other things.

You can either buy your XCM today for 0.02 or come back in a year and buy a few at 1€ to get some fee discounts when you want to trade.

>>15799204
>using coinbase pro the fees are 0.25%
On CoinMetro they are 0.1% for takers and makers earn half the takers fees. That should be reason enough.
They aren't illiquid for large pairings, you can buy 100 ETH without moving the books at all. You can also margin trade which you can't on Coinbase. Those are actual reasons to use it as it is and it keeps getting better and adding new features. It is already better than Kraken and I had always used them before CoinMetro. Don't call people brainlets when you are too dumb to capitalise sentences

>i don't see any reason for it to be tokenized
I'm sure the reason is that its a utility token but like the rest of this space you are correct in saying that it probably doesn't need a token. They do have a decent tokenomics model at least, my personal opinion is that we will see more of these unnecessarily tokenised crypto services and some will do well although I don't know if parsiq will be one of those.

At least with IEOs dev funds are locked so we can't have more things like FUN and QSP that change their tokenomics out of the blue without the devs being penalised. Parsiq is an example of the advantages of IEOs over ICOs for this reason. I bought some more out of boredom and curiosity than anything else.

as a link holder I can say that this is not very different, moving the industry forward is in focus, not hype and pumping the price.

similar to those who refused to buy link < $1, we'll have the same in a few months about XCM. (but not $1).

they want something to market first, not just marketing one exchange out of a 100.

unironically, if one wanted to separate the parts of crypto that are going die because they are not actually contributing anything to the world from the parts that will flourish because they offer something of value, anything CM touches can safely be placed in the second category.
The problem with crypto today is that people think that it doesn't matter whether their crypto investments are actually solid as long as other people buy into the same semi-scam they themselves did, and this might have actually been partly true pre 2018.
Nowadays, however, we operate by the same rules that traditional markets do: companies with solid fundamentals are more likely to make investments profitable than companies with worse fundamentals.
