How is it legal for these financial companies to state what they believe the stock price for a stock should be, WHEN they have

the people who do high-activity options trading tend to pass through the threads with an average (median) lifespan of 3 weeks. there will usually be a 2-4 day "king of the world" timeframe where they think they cracked the free money code and get really enthusiastic

Can anyone explain the case for buying uvxy/vixy/viix calls instead of stacking TVIX?

It feels so expensive to pay $100+ for something that expires at the end of the week, but I did just buy $200 of TVIX. Am I mindfucking myself?

who is "they"? are "they" the buyer or seller of the option(s), or are "they" just a hypothetical counter-party?
what about our side of the trade, and our IV calculation? if the market is "wrong" about IV (forward-looking?), then of course we might want to find a good position to take advantage of that
my response to the other poster was to try and give some ideas about why a hypothetical options strategy might not be "free money". The answer is still going to be something like "premium accounts for most likely future price movements, especially when integrated forward into a repeating strategy"

You need the contracts to be fairly uniform in order for them to generate the volume need to be liquid, and to have price discovery occur.

The bond market has a much higher variation in products, and it's an opaque clusterfuck for that reason.

It's impossible to time the bottom carefully. Every stock has a story. Some are just down on their luck.
