I don't understand percentage increases, what do they mean in depth? Why is the USD percentage not the same as the BTC percentage?

STEELE BTC = 47.64 increase
STEELE USD = 45.23 increase

BTC has changed to USD as well as STEELE, that's where the difference is from

But how is that relevant in practice? And why do people typically view their marketcap chart in BTC instead of USD?

Imagine having 8k of some $1 coins. It's worth 1BTC. Now BTC falls to 6k, a 25% decline, but your coins don't fall, which means they haven't increased to USD but have increased to BTC by 25%.

Mostly because they're brainwashed and think BTC will dominate the world in a few years. But it's also more convenient to view it in BTC if you're accumulating BTC during a bull run.

Thanks, now this is a real answer. I couldn't put the question in proper terms.

No I made 4k long term on BTC when I bought at 4k and sold at like 9k. (instead of 13-15k, whoops) I'm new and that's my only transaction. Been doing loads of research and asking the all important question... -------------------------->whhhhhyyyy<----------- something works the way it does.

So what you're saying is that percentage refers to a percentage increase or decrease compared to BTC or USD, depending on what you have selected? Makes sense if that's the case.

Was I seriously wrong? Correct me then. I'm only a retard at first, then when I know something in depth I turn based.
