If I do make it, even if it's like 100k, I feel like I owe it to my parents to tell them

I've be earning £5k a month now for 2 years, 3k a month for 3 years prior to that, and I don't think they can understand why I haven't bought a house yet and I never seem to do anything with my money/free time

I've not told them my money and time are reserved for crypto and working so I can make more money, so I'm sure they wonder what's going on. If I do make it I kinda feel like they need an explanation to put their minds at rest - but I know if I tell them I risk having your scenario. Any suggestions?

establish a culture of trust, financial literacy and responsibility first, as well as clear limits to charity
everything else will be a pain in the ass later
they wouldn't just want you to buy a house for yourself. but for them, too. they'll start talking about these and that objects and how they want but can't have them

Everyone reading this and expecting to make it in the decade, start working on the lie now. Think of a boring work-at-home job you can tell them which won't raise questions. Like you're a freelance webdev or sysadmin. Learn a little jargon so if they DO get into it you can misdirect. Practice telling the lie to yourself in a mirror until it's second nature. When you make it, set up a spare office that looks lived-in so you can say, 'that's where I do my dev stuff' if guests come by.

If even a single person suspects you're lying and actually just a crypto-rich NEET, literally EVERYONE ON EARTH will know within a week. And then it's just a matter of time before men come in the night in an unmarked van and beat your private keys out of you one character at a time with a hammer.

Based. Fortunately I learned this with crypto as well but not the hard way since I only made a few thousands, told my friend and told him to stfu and a week later multiple people knew. From now on I'm never telling how much I make

It's fucking surreal at times though, like sitting at family dinner table on a Sunday talking about our days while you know you are literally making thousands of dollars right at this second as the price goes violently up just sitting there.

I could believeably be said to be on "neet/sick bucks" and nobody would bat an eyelid, hell, there's quite a few people living like that in this street, I wouldn't be surprised if some of them actually have money but just don't have the energy to move anywhere better when they've been here all their lives.

If you ask really wealthy people what they do for a living, most of them will be very vague about it because most of them really don't do much or got the job through elite family connections and make millions of dollars a year while you wagecuck for pennies.

At least you learned. Some rules learned from experience:

>Never brag about your income
>Always say you're just making do if asked by anyone for your salary, no matter how genuine or nonchalant they ask
>The only people possibly worth trusting with knowledge about your income and asset amount is your closest kin (trusted parent, sibling...) or your SO if they're your life partner+also financially astute+not some obvious sugar ho
