weekend - Romans 1
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Those "indoctrinated followers" are what we in a democracy term "voters." You need those to actually get elected to public office.

Don't be fooled. Regardless of whether you like Trump, Tulsi is not "our girl." She may have some good positions, but she's still very much in line with the current zeitgeist. Yang is bad too, but at least he's promising us free money.

>>15746855
I don't think there is a blanket strategy you could use to consistently outperform "the market". For example, if you're buying puts as a hedge, how expensive do you think it would to buy puts to hedge the entire time you're in the market over a period of decades? If your selling calls, you may get a better return off options premiums than you would have just holding stock, but if stock goes further outside the strike price than expected, you'll miss out on those extra gains (or have to buy at a higher than planned price to cover). Think of those figures that are like if you miss the N most positve days in the market, you'd miss out on X% of the gains. I think with buying options, it must have a lower than 100% expected payout since you're paying for uncertainty that goes to 0 over time. Since selling options is the other side of the transaction, it seems like that could have a better than break-even expected payout, but it seems like it wouldn't over the long run in rising markets. Maybe the problem with selling is that it's hard to be a seller of the right options at all times.

I havent really seen a lot of Tesla's automated shit but if it takes that long to do turns or recenter the vehicle they're going to be seeing a lot of these accidents. People will think it's safe to back up and the tesla's jut don't react in time to stop it seems from the videos i've watched.

This post is confused on many counts.

1. Unlike the godless 4chan.org, 4channel is a Christian website. /smg/ in particular is an explicitly Christian general thread. In fact, /smg/ at its core is really more about Christianity than trading stocks or any other kind of security.
2. Your comment about usury is backwards. True Christianity(tm) actually prohibits charging usury, as stated in the Holy Scriptures. To my knowledge, pagan religions do not generally have such a prohibition. This is one of the main reasons why this thread is about trading stock rather than bonds, because the arrangement of bonds smacks of usury to us.
3. I very much doubt you are either a practicing "pagan," or have five white children. More likely, you are just a agent of discord come to spread bad will and disharmony among the brethren. We are all brothers here. We will not fall for your tricks.

Here's a good one. Empty parking lot and looks absolutely retarded. I like your point about people reacting to it's slowness. It appears to be super cautious so other drivers might think it will yield to aggression but the Tesla just carries on autistically since it technically has right of way.

Tbh this isn't what I was expecting since I've heard Tesla has a pretty big lead in self driving.

We saw this massive drop because earnings in Q2 beat estimates by a lot and in Q3 earnings suddenly dropped. But I think it's a safe bet that traders will fill the gap before Q4.
The estimate for the company however have dropped massively thanks to this downturn. My target is 322 before it starts trending downwards to ~190 (2018 lows). But this outlook can obviously change if they change shit up.

Considering they keep beating estimates I would say Q4 will push it above.

I've got $500 in dividend stocks and $500 in mutual funds. What's a suggestion /biz/ might have for my next move? I'm a beginner, and while I think I have a basic understanding of when to lean into an opportunity (buying the YTD low during a logging company's union strike, for example), I'm looking for direction. I'm slowly diversifying into different sectors and industries, but I've noticed that the majority of my self-directed portfolio is in oils, gas and energy. I've had a tidy profit of $20 over the past month. I don't expect more than that since it's only $500.

Do I continue on with my dividend focus, or move onto an ETF or another mutual fund?

I'm a fellowyoke, brother. Usury to my understanding is greed taken to its fullest. It's a grave sin, and God abhors it. But to lend isn't sin itself. The Bible teaches us that the borrower is always at the mercy of the lender. Now who would you want to be? A borrower or a lender? It's OK to lend with interest, so long as it's not bankrupting the borrower. As with all things in our walk of faith, it's about balance and focusing on God. What would God want when I buy in to a corporate bond? Would he want huge profits at the cost of the consumer or would he want us to prosper without hurting others in the process?

it's the tesla's fault because no one was driving it and it was in a public parking lot. I don't give a shit what driving laws apply to vehicles with people operating them, we don't have things sorted out well enough to give a driverless car to literally anyone to play around near children and elderly people in packed parking lots.

Also, normally someone would see the brake lights. These teslas do not look left and right to anticipate people driving perpendicular to them. The car actually has to turn itself to look left or right while a human just turns their head. They do not play well with cross traffic, and cross traffic is the majority of parking lot etiquette.

>>15747700
a lot of the videos I'm seeing, people don't have proper line of sight on the car and the parking lot is full. if the tesla is able to drive over curbs and into bushes, it's most likely capable of hitting cars and children. it's only a matter of time until we see something happen. we're only a couple of days in yet.

It's not as long as you change the laws on deportations and immigration in a whole. A wall ensures that a family won't even try to climb over by themselves, the only ones doing it are human smugglers and those guys will run out of business if the people they smuggle in are instantly deported without having the possibility to seek legal aid like the current open border policy's promote.
Look at Hungary, with good enough immigration laws and a two layer FENCE the illegal crossings completely vanished.

The Surface is a flagship product so having AMD in it is a big deal. Thinkpad deal was nice but this pulls in normies and hiopsters who might give AMD a shot and the Microsoft AMD relationship can't be underestimated.

Race is a predeterminate for world views. Certain races are born in certain areas, the general individual forms to the social culture of that community.

Why do you think everyone pisses their pants about demographics? People are not genetically inclined to be welfare lovers but add lower cognitive ability and cultural influences and most people are their ethnic stereotype.

Hope that explains you the disdain and prejudice for certain races.

I wonder what affect the impeachment process will have on the trade talks. If I'm China, I wouldn't even believe a deal with Trump would mean anything right now. He's also releasing transcripts of interactions between him and foreign heads of state, so you can't guarantee confidentiality either.

He's an unreliable actor.

Alright I haven't been to a walmart in like 5 years
I feel like I should go there more often, it really is like reading the patch notes for low-class American life. I've been to out of touch with how the walmart shoppers of America are living.

Some of the interesting things I saw:
-> There is a machine when you are walking out, about twice the size of an ATM machine or a change machine, that you can sell back a cell phone too. I think it's crazy, how much money can they really be making off of that machine? How many people run out of money buying TP and food and tell the check-out person, "brb, gotta redeem my Samsung for cash"?
-> There are camera filming stations at some places in the aisles as an anti-theft deterrent, they show you your video to let you know you're being filmed.
-> couldn't find any Bubblicious gum, either in the candy aisle or at the registers. People are all chewing these boring sugarfree gums these days, they're everywhere.
-> I was impressed by the pricing of plastic bins, you can buy really nice big plastic bins for like $10 or less
basically walmart is wild haha.

If you google "phone buyback kiosk" you'll see stuff about them

the one I saw was this kind:
https://www2.ecoatm.com/
their website says it's all about recycling the base materials and helping the environment, but the ads on the screen of the kiosk were about selling newish looking smartphones for up to $200.
Apparently you put your phone in the Kiosk and it gives you money right there. I'd expect them to have some clause where they can get money back from you somehow if you spoof or scam the device, otherwise some nerd would figure out how to put in simple $10 circuits that act like a $1000 phone..

But it's so difficult to estinate, FGO revenue varies greatly between different months with different events and different server also have different schedule on different events so they can't be comoared directly. those are more than 5 years old. I'm a cheap ass so a lifelong walmart shopper also I worked there for a bit while in college. New stuff to me is they have more pallets and employees out on the floor during the day. I think they have changed their schedule structure around like Target has. Grocery pickup is thriving and you probably saw but didn't note the employees collecting merchandise for pickup. Younger people have been using that service more I assume to avoid coming into the store as much. I believe they have fewer people in the front of the store than historically even taking self checkout into account.

Online sales are only going to keep improving. If you browse their site you'll see they have adopted an amazon-like format where third parties can sell on their storefront. Target has also began to do that.

The problem with this position--setting aside the question of what religion is true, since we will not all agree--is that the principles that make Christianity great can't exist apart from the faith. The fear of God, reverence, sense of the transcendent and the sacred: without those things, a really great society is not possible. The concept of dogma is also important, as the state of modern Christianity shows us. If religion is allowed to be led by the secular culture (or on the flip side as a simple reaction against the culture), then religion only exerts a positive imfluence on society to the extent that its principles are palatable to the prevailing opinions of the secular culture, and so religion is worth very little at all. See how the moral fiber of society fell apart especially over the last century or so.

looks like EV's in China are also heavily reliant on subsidies:

"One of NIO's most pressing problems is the weak market for higher-end electric vehicles in China. The firm's deliveries peaked at 7,980 in the fourth quarter of last year, shortly before China's central government slashed subsidies for "New Energy Vehicles" (EVs and plug-in hybrids) in half. Since then NIO's deliveries have declined twice, first to 3,989 in the first quarter of this year and then to just 3,553 in Q2. "

I wonder if Beijing will pump cash into Nio at minimum to save face?

I just checked and walmart.com doesn't tell you this but I use the walmart app and it will tell you where to locate an item. HD website tells you aisle and bay and has everything marked very clearly. It is nice. At Target you also only need to use the website and set your location. WMT is definitely behind when it comes to that although I still have more confidence in them than TGT over the next couple of years especially with both companies competing against amazon. Walmart stores are warehouses and they can shift the back wall and shrink the sales floor and they have great locations for delivery as well as rock solid logistics. Target has flubbed logistics in a big way recently while walmart is king of that shit and they're also cashing in on the self driving fad and their semi fleet development is good.

Add to my holdings each month like clockwork till I walk out from my job and tell them all to suck my cock. I'll have the last laugh oh yes indeed. My new job is still in the planning, unlike most shit in life this one's pretty much in the bag. 50/50 shot for me. They still gotta go thru the motions of course once they get the title worked out. Can't just "give" it to me, that'd be illegal. But the fix is in make no mistake. So everyone will go through the motions and such and they'll tell all the other applicants to hit the road when the time comes. The only thing that is still up in the air is the title. What I qualify for, what title big personal will let them use, etc. God forbid they go to all this trouble for me and I don't qualify for it, you know?. So I've been kinda helping them out. Kinda creating my own job so to speak. But they do need the help so it ain't really just to do me any favors, it's to help them out to.

That’s why i said the 90% retarded plebs need to believe in it...
Religion is for the retarded. The underlying values help make society great. Right and wrong while up for debate largely isnt. Eg its in our best interests to work with each and not against each other to accomplish goals, laws are a result of us all agreeing on terms we all can live with.
People of sound mind dont need archaic “magical” books to tells us whats best, but most people arent of sound mind

I was kind of joking about the bonds being usury thing. In the case of bonds, that would not--to my understanding--traditionally be considered as a usurious loan, because of the nature of the contract. Even though a bond is a loan of money for interest, in the case of corporate bonds, it is considered (in moral theology) as purchasing a temporary stake in the assets of the corporation, and in the case of default, the bondholders only claim is against their share of the assets of the corporation (whatever remains of the assets of the corporation) and they don't have any further recourse than that.

I don't agree with your statement in general that loans are okay as long as they don't bankrupt the borrower. If you look at how Christian thinkers understood usury for early times, it's clear that the prohibition against usury was not just based on the amount of interest demanded or the ability of the borrow to repay. Whether something is usurious comes down to the nature of the contract. If I give you something and ask for interest, there are two things to me that seem like they change the nature of the contract. If I lend you something and you stop paying me my interest (in a rental contract for instance), can I reclaim the specific property that I loaned to you, and then do I have any further claim against you or your other property?

Very peterson argument. There’s truth to it, but whether Christianity is the cause is unclear.

Religion could also have been an expression of the ideals already embraced by society, more of an effect than cause. Truth could be a little of both.

Walmart is terrible. I don't necessarily mean that they are more evil than other companies, that they aren't doing good things or even that that their products are necessarily worst than other companies'. It's just a miserable place to shop at. What I mean most of all is that Walmart attracts the worst dreg of society as its customers. If someone considers themselves a Walmart shopper, there's a good chance that their the kind of person that will leave food wrappers on the shelves, take merchandise off the shelf and put leave it in a different aisle spill stuff on the floor and walk away, etc. Walmart shares some of the blame, mainly (I suspect) not allocating enough staff to checkout and keeping up the store, but I think that the customers bear the majority of the blame. Not even Kmart (RIP) had such awful looking stores, and their employees probably work less hard than Walmart.

I don't think religion is for the less intelligent. Look at the great thinkers of the past? Weren't very many of them religious people? If you think that they were not sincere in their beliefs (because you're smart, and YOU surely could never believe in such silly stuff), or just dismiss them all as "retarded," that just shows ignorance on your part. I decided to buy some TLRD stock recently. I think buying calls on TLRD, even if you normally like buying calls (which I don't), is probably not a good idea. Buy shares and don't gamble on time. If you were thinking that the stock is bound to surge in the near-term because of share repurchases, think again. Using ODP as an example, they had $100 million authorized at the beginning of the fiscal year for buy backs. Nevertheless, despite the share price sinking lower and lower, as of the last quarter's report, they still had $89 million of that unused. Maybe they have deployed some of those funds since then, but the point is that just because a company has money authorized to do big buybacks (double-digit percentage of market cap) and the share price seems really, really low, there's no guarantee that the company will deploy the authorized funds immediately or even at all.

Some of us like our jobs. My job is low stress, accomodating of my outside schedule and is even pretty fun a lot of the time. Even if I get tired of my current job, I'd like to keep working at something and making an income as long as I'm reasonably able to do so. If I work hard and live within my means, I hope I can put my children on a good course, and they can worry about money less than I do. Of course, my grandchildren or great grandchildren might fritter their good fortune away and start the cycle over again, but I'll at least do my part.

>Some of them definitively were "religious" or else they would have been lynched by the mob.

Right, this the mindset I said was ignorant earlier. I used to think the same way. It's just that people without any religious conversion do not understand the religious mindset. You're arguing about how other people must have seen or experienced things when you've never experienced the sort of things they've experienced.

Look at the post chain. I was responding to your comment here.

>Some of them definitively were "religious" or else they would have been lynched by the mob.

The implication here in this context being that smart minds of the past who were religious were only feigning religion outwardly due to social pressures. All I'm saying is just because you are a smart guy (or at least your mothet always told you so) and you don't understand the experience of genuine religion doesn't mean that other minds of similar intelligence to your own were not genuinely religious. They just had a different outlook you haven't experienced. It's maybe like how some people don't really understand the perspective of being a parent until they have children themselves.

First of all
>Some
then all you're saying is
>if you would have the same blind faith you would understand how it is to have that faith
>similar intelligence
Intelligence is an abstract. It fails to correctly describe reality. Somebody can be incredibly clever but that doesn't make him intelligent. He can still be a retard if his personality doesn't allow him to use his cleverness correctly. Often it comes down to not being able to ask the right questions.
>It's maybe like how some people don't really understand the perspective of being a parent until they have children themselves.
You mean I don't understand how it is to be a father because my irrational biological father instinct didn't kick in yet? Yes, that's mostly how it is. Perfect comparison btw( no sarcasm).
