It's not that SWIFT is necessarily using ChainLink, its more that Sergey is using SWIFT for the greater benefit of the blockchain space, and ultimately, ChainLink.

The PoC was demonstrating how IoT sensors could be used as inputs for smart contracts and settled using SWIFT. What really needs to be taken out of this is that Corda is using link. That's the real news.
