The worst part is that I can't even remember all the nights of drinking and getting high, theyre just foggy snippets. But every morning when I wake up on the floor of my studio apartment in the inner city at 6 am, let me tell you that feels about as 'lucid' as it gets.
So if I could go back in time to tell my 18 year old self one thing, it'd be 'dont get high, don't get drunk, dont fuck strangers'. The only reason you're encouraged to do that is because of a crabs in a bucket mentality. Your 'friends' want you to make the same mistakes they're making. I bet a lot of those same friends would hate me if I had spent my twenties keeping my money in an index fund and working hard towards getting a good degree.

Fuck 18, if I could go back in time I’d get my GED at 16, train and certify for my CDL by 18, become an OTR trucker and spend 5 years-8 years working and living in cab making 100,000 a year.

Buy house out of pocket FLA/GA/AZ/somewhere affordable, invest the rest of my money, work a part time job somewhere if necessary to pay utilities and taxes.

A smart 16 year old could be financially free in 9 years if they were led to the right choices, but everyone will push them to take on 80k of debt for a Cuck Studies degree and they’ll end up homeless.

Don't smoke weed or do hard drugs. (LSD)
Learn boxing or kick boxing or some form of martial arts.
Set a goal and don't stop until you get there. Write it down and look at it every day and night. (Financially or physically or mentally etc)
Don't buy expensive cars. Buy a cheap Toyota and fix it up.

Well. I lived between places with my gf, parents, and an employer for a while at that time. I completed an associates degree and instead of going straight for my bachelors, I moved across the country and had some fun but ultimately failed. I then NEET'd at home in obscurity and depression for about three years. I moved across the country again, and after nearly two years, failed in my relationship and became homeless, luckily I found a job on a pot farm and was able to earn enough in a short period to support myself living in the city, I would repeat this process for two years, earning enough at my seasonal job to scrape by in town working odd jobs the rest of the year. This year I turned down a job offer at a IT Network, starting at $20 an hour with room to grow, in order to pursue a love interest which ultimately failed. I will be returning to my seasonal job tomorrow. I have $200 in cash, $600 in debt, a 2004 car with 160k miles, and am effectively homeless barring my girlfriend who is an addict with chronic pain but supports herself nonetheless and lets me stay with her for now. I will make between 5-10k at my job and after that be completely listless and drifting again.

I am 29 years old. This may sound like a nightmare but this string of adventure and failure is the only thing that has stopped me from killing myself. Where it not for travel and intrigue, I am pretty sure I would have shot myself or jumped off a cliff.

Wouldn't wish it on anyone. Every year that passes I essentially tell myself "something needs to change, I need to develop my skills and get a job, I need to get on the path to home ownership" - it hasn't happened yet. I don't really see it happening, I've spent too much time free from the bells and whistles of a normal job to ever be able to abide those rules. There is a small chance I could shoot for a normal life with a tech job or writing, but mostly I just feel the inertia of my life dragging me into old age and complacency. I don't have any excuses, I'm healthy, above average looking and relatively intelligent. So it goes, I suppose. Being homeless isn't so bad, and most of them have chosen that lifestyle.

>> No.15622237

I would find a way to assess my skills, and which one of them would give me the most monetary gains in ten years and then dive heads first towards developing and monetizing that.
Meanwhile, I would play the sexual market, looking to develop skills and get a low maintenance cum dumpster (because those actually make you richer by increasing your productivity and reducing tail-chasing mistakes).
After ten years living extremely frugally (because cheap pussy plus cheap internet means that entertainment is easy and cheap) I would the fuck out of this dead end country and move towards a developing one for retirement and to find a pretty (and poor) girl that would worship me.

Don't stay in highschool for an extra year. It wasn't worth it. You'll go back to school through adult day school to finish your HS diploma. Use the money you spend on anime and video games and invest it into an index fund. Don't finance a car when you know full well that you cannot afford it. Going to conventions for drinks and hotel parties aren't worth it. Stop pretending to be come hot shot. You're just the same as the rest of them.

Whatever you do, don't left your own parents get the better of you. They may guilt you into doing things that would only benefit themselves. Don't listen to their nonsense. You gotta make those choices and go through with it. I regret missing out on some great opportunities like a new rental property or even a stack of silver on sale.
