If businesses become too risk averse they will either cut expenses (ie jobs), move to another country with lower taxes or cheaper labor, or just shut down entirely. Reducing profits reduces incentive for entrepreneurship.

Because a business is just an organization, and one that the owner created or assumed the rights to its creation. That person sets the "price" because it's theirs. You have every right to accept or refuse that price. Business owners make so much because they 1. Take a huge risk in being the founder of said business 2. Usually have more vision than the complacent people who make up their workforce.
