I bounced back and forth between Orthodox Christianity and Confucianism a bunch of times but now I think we just need a proper perspective on the human experience being optimally placed between nature's hostility and society's tyranny. It's like two concentric circles. Being outside the outer ring means death by starvation or disease, being inside the inner ring means death by ideology or anxiety. You're at your healthiest just being grateful to have three square meals a day and warmth.
