>> No.1554859

Top 4%, 41 years old. Not bad, but I wasted all my life savings in grad school, so I have no house. Wish I had a big-ass-fucking woodshop, so I'm learning finance now to get there.

With the earnings I passed on in grad school, I could have bought and crashed two Lamborghinis :/

It's stable and has a good work/life balance. Especially if you like to drive to different towns and work with different people. If for some reason you dig being in an office it wouldn't be for you.

You may not get rich in cash $, but you can pick your own hours once you own your own business. Just make sure in your apprentice years that you aim for the top. Don't get stuck working for someone else your whole career. Keep on eye on how the boss does things :)

This.
I live in a boring but pleasant city literally 50 miles from Tokyo, and houses here can be had at 2.5mil yen ($25k) because everybody moved to Tokyo. I make $2400 a month, rent is $500 a month, and I can walk to work, but the company gave me a car anyway.

I will literally own a house outright in less than two years at which point living expenses will drop to 20% of my income, at 27, with a dependent, on $29k per year. Meanwhile my parents are still paying off their shitty $250k house.

I feel like a king. I'm going to get a second job and get an old Ferrari.
