This is the secret: I watch this guy called Dan Lok on youtube. He says he reads X books per year (not sure if quite 60 but) he said how he reads a book is he checks the table of contents and goes to chapters that he thinks contains new information. Then he reads some of the first paragraphs and decided if he wants to go further. Once he is done with a book he considers it "read". I think he said he tries to read a book a week. So 52.

So try just picking up a self help book and reading a few chapters and then just putting it down and saying you read it and do that 60 times.

This is the secret: Forget anything your normie wagecuck teachers told you in school. You don't need to read every word of a book to fully understand it. You can also use Wikipedia. Facts don't matter, unless you're concocting chemicals or doing surgery. Most people don't know what the fuck they are doing. Case in point: Your teachers who were in elementary, instead of starting their own business or in a field with great pay.

I cannot count how many years I lost from my life listening to these former wagecuck's advice, because they were an authority. Everyone does it, just either not very good at it or they don't set their sights far.

The only people that care about books facts are nerds and antisocial insufferable people. Think about it. None of them will bring you money, get you laid, or provide happiness. Normies are not going to argue with you. Normies are more likely to buy things on impulse. People will money will not research reviews for products/service for three hours because time = money. Good looking women who are attracted to you won't argue with you.

Tell everyone you have read one book a day, then just read the Wikipedia summary of it.

You can easily, EASILY, read a book every day. I am in awe that people can't do this. Read during your commute to work, and read as soon as you get home until bed time. Work out 3x a week.
I read 400 words per minute with 85% comprehension and retention (I've been tester) so that's a page a minute. In 5 hours that's 300 pages. I can easily do 400 pages a day. Now obviously a book like middlemarch will take maybe 2 days at that speed, but for most good books 400 pages will finish that sucker. I definitely do 5 books a week.

That breaks down into 5 books per month, which is more than a book per week. I'm supposed to believe the people with supposedly the most demanding job in a corporation read more than a book a week? When I had the entire day to myself and actually read for more than 8 hours a day it still took me two weeks to read a book, although it was more for entertainment. I'm guessing by "book" they mean magazine

Also, my CEO is a pathetically dumb thot that was likely hired because the owner wanted to fuck her. She takes orders from the VP who does all of the work the CEO is supposed to do plus his own work. It didn't say light novel it said "books". The books I read are usually over 500 pages or so. Recently the CompTIA guide I'm on is still over 1300 pages if you cut out the useless parts. Even regular fantasy books that don't require a lot of critical thinking are at least 300 pages.

Magazines, comics, light novels, short stories. These are not "books" they're entertainment and probably as useful in life as playing video games or watching TV. When someone says they read a lot of books they typically are trying to imply they're a well read individual and appear smart to other people. But how smart is a person when the books they read are say; a garbage truck of romantic novels from the dollar store?

I read somewhere that GW Bush had a gentlemen's bet with Rumsfeld or somebody, to see who could read the most books in a year (and by read, they meant READ, not skim the TOC lor isten to it on an audiobook). Bush won with 24 books read. I thought, "Holy shit, the POTUS has time to read two dozen books in a year, what's my excuse?"

So I tried and succeeded (barely). But the more I read, the faster I got. On vacation a few years ago I read a book a day (200+ pages). But that was fiction. I feel like I've been reading this book on reverse engineering forever, and I'm only 10% complete.

3.) You don't need back-to-front technical knowledge to be successful.
4.) I read The AoE, K&R, Hardware/Firmware Interface Design, and Solid State Electronic Devices at rate that I needed to reference them. Didn't plow through them in one go. Application notes and datasheets go a long way, but for the most part, any industry executes on rules of thumb. Even semiconductor design. There are many successful designers who fly on intuition and never run into a wall in review. You don't retain what you read in a technical manual. You retain what you practice. Nobody reads these books straight through. You read them for fun and use them for reference.
This is what traps many home trading technical market analysts. They study the shit out of n-day MAs and regression models, but fail to realize that intuitive understanding of dynamic market forces and anomalies shape your analysis strategy, and your 99-day EWMA crossover is almost certainly garbage. Seeing desperate people throw their money at a strategy from a one-day Youtube search baffles me.
