the problem with this logic is that it assumes the only CP that exists is people exploiting kids
there have been cases where kids have sent nudes of themselves to people and either gotten the person in trouble or gotten themselves in trouble (if you're underaged and you post nudes of yourself you're charged for distributing CP)
it's not like back in the day when it was just a bunch of creeps with camcoders and VHS' making it and sending it around, these days everyone has a phone or tablet with a camera and access to the internet including teenagers and kids

I'm not saying it shouldn't be illegal but the narrative is definitely way different now

Unfortunately I am legit. Here's proof: I barely remember anything from those 12 years on here.
I do remember there was a very early thread in particular on /g/ about bitcoin that, for some reason, inspired me to start mining, but I ended up giving up a few minutes into downloading the blockchain. It was telling me it was gonna take several hours, so obviously this whole bitcoin thing wasn't gonna be worth it. This was back before ASICs and I actually had two midrange radeon cards and a fairly good cpu which would've gotten some good hashes for the time.
Ah well, I try not to worry about what could've been, but sometimes I wonder...
Hindsight is always 20/20 though. I hope the future is better for you.
