ETH will not die off any time soon. Just note that development is somewhat stagnant in terms of actually making Ethereum scalable. What worries me is that ETH can compete with future generation cryptos. I'm looking at ALGORAND right now, that solves the Blockchain Trilemma. Plus they do have a high-demand staking program that is worth to be checked out
