This strategy definitely works on bluechips going through financial trouble, as there is enough reliable information available to determine if a stock is fundamentally under or overvalued.
It DOSEN'T work in markets built purely on speculation, where "fundamentals" are hazily defined and unreliable at best.
Hell, this type of value-investing dosen't even work well by itself in less speculative markets like FX, even less so in the highly volatile gribdo gurnzee market

Risk management is key. Also managing your money, know what you can lose and what not. Personally I’m very bullish on BTC and MITx. BTC is the big daddy, MITx is working on the Singapore Government model, many are expecting good stuff coming.
