You've probably come across a lot of guys who have said men built the world, so to say. If you want to go tit for tat on "which gender has contributed more", you'll find that women have at times had masculine roles throughout history (an example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleophis)), either due to it being a cultural aspect or just out of sheer desperation.

The issue I have with an argument founded on sanctimony ("no, I'm the one who works harder than you because..." etc) is that it seems it disregards "traditional" roles as being of lesser importance.

But do some men need to be held accountable and depended on, in order for them to develop? I don't know, and I don't want to use that as an excuse for my own (I assume OP's) issues. But it's something to consider.

Well, men did built the world, in a literal sense. Men make up 94% of workplace fatalities, because they are the ones who hold the dangerous jobs like construction, electrical engineering, iron working, etc.
We would have none of these things if it weren't for men. Put a bunch of women together to try to build a skyscraper and you will end up with nothing. It has never happened, nature did not build them for that. Hence why only 6.7% of female college graduates chose STEM fields, for instance - it is not something they tend to be interested in.

I kinda did this. Went back to college at 25, overloaded courses every semester, masters grad at 29. Went to work at a prestigious company in my field, left after two years to be an owner in a small company. Did that till 36. Made ok money, max of 135k. Retired on about a half mil net worth. A lot of sacrifices, including my current humble lifestyle, but I never have to wagecuck again. Worth it. I know OP is sarcastic, but it is possible.

I'm 31 and never worked a single day in my whole life.
I need 1200€/year to cover all necessities, and since my luxuries are all piratable, that's the extent of my expenses, which are of course easily coverable by what my parents left me with.
My genetics are also very solid, only potential heart problems that are there from birth, which i don't have, so no medical bills to be expected.
I also never wash, last time i took a shower was probably fifteen years ago, so tip top immune system, was last ill around twenty years ago.

I lived the life a lot of young people crave, a life where you do what you want and need for nothing, and i must warn you.
It never gets old.
I really should start a business though, i don't have enough money to get myself an immortal cyborg body and keep doing what i have been doing for all of eternity.

How to retire early without fucking (each step matters)
Hobbies are meaningless
Art is a joke, all forms of creativity are just.mating calls
Having a wife it's either gay mommy delusion or empty lust mistake
Having children is okay but very hard
Retire early or not or never, does not matter. If you live life it will be hellish pain, if you hide away it will not be. But you will die for sure.
Do drugs, sex with strangers, politics, social manipulation. All empty. Religion? Maybe for some
In the end community makes people really happy. Friends, family, neighbors. Church wives with 12 grandkids are happier than r
Bitcoin retirees
Anyways, invest in love. Hedge with money bets

Men complaining that men need to exist for the modern lifestyle to exist, while not actually doing anything themselves, is what I understood that post to mean. I actually assumed it was a woman who posted it. In that context, my post related more to my views that women shouldn't feel they're not doing anything "worthwhile" by not "contributing to modern society".

It seems that anon wasn't a woman, so I was wrong about that.

i can agree with some of what you said except about hiding away not being pain. work has been shown to be the best way. it is hard but gives the most life satisfaction. the richest people know this, a lot still work because they know that it's not money that makes you happy. money gives you power and it will help you understand what is truly worth something, but it's not the end goal. some people realize this even before getting money. it's one thing to think this but another to experience it.

First, it's a bit risky, and there is <100% chance that I can avoid having any kind of part time job forever. I don't have a brokerage account with 500k in it that yields 4%. My net worth is all real estate and crypto, including a paid off house in the sticks that I live in. I have 4 other rentals (in the city) with varying equity amounts that all provide some small bit of cash flow. It's not enough to live on, however, even in a paid off house, so I have to wait for rent to go up before that will work. In the mean time I have about 150k in cash and crypto to last until rent cash flow can pay for my lifestyle. I live cheap, and can definitely go years without working, but I'm not totally sure that it will be enough years, if rent doesn't go up fast enough. That also provides some years for crypto to move. Not a perfect plan, but I have enough confidence in it working that it's comfy.
