https://mises.org/library/data-clear-free-markets-reduce-poverty

>obvious fact that severe poverty has disappeared in the most industrialized countries. Nations like the US, UK, Switzerland, and Japan industrialized within what were predominantly laissez-faire free-market conditions. Even the so-called social democracies, like Sweden and Germany, developed in free-market conditions, and adopted extensive state welfare and regulatory programs only after achieving high levels of economic development and industrialization. World Bank data shows that there is inequality, but this inequality is between the free-market nations and the crony-capitalist and socialistic nations.

IMO a country will develop a socialist system if there end up being too many "have nots" in a "le free market" system (many free markets aren't actually free because when government becomes too weak then the corporations just make the rules of the land and they use this to create monopolies.)

Rich people don't give poor people money out of the goodness of their heart or virtue signaling, they give them money so that their life won't suck so badly they have nothing to lose and start a revolution.

90% of monopolies are government produced.

I personally have nothing against monopolies if they are created honestly. I understand this is a very unpopular opinion even in the right and I understand the reasons why someone would want to restrict monopolies.

Doesn't change the fact that governments create monopolies by restricting competition and by giving unfair, nonreplicable, advantages to others.

People don't realize that really drives standard of living is advances in technology. Wealth "equality" is a meme. The pathetic piece of shit of today is better off because off medical and technological advances. What drives those advances? Capitalism. Self interest. This. It's closer to the truth than 90% of the content of that propaganda website, but it's not telling the whole story. Access to markets is very important for poverty reduction, but it's not the only thing needed. Government redistribution of wealth is highly advantageous despite what they claim.

And although most industrialising nations were laisez-faire internally, their external policies were highly protectionist at least some of the time. I support free trade, but not because of its imaginary track record!

Imagine being such a moron you advocate for some system assuming people are something other than what they've historically proven themselves to be. A pragmatist acknowledges reality and advocates for a system that takes that reality and turns it into value. It just so happens that in this instance such a system is also moral, unlike the alternatives.

Government redistribution of wealth creates lazy, useless people who cannot take care of themselves or their loved ones. These people turn to drugs in their boredom leading to increases in crime. >obvious fact that severe poverty has disappeared in the most industrialized countries.
Key word "severe"

78% of fulltime workers still live paycheck to paycheck
>inb4 nationalist sheep says it's the individuals fault/irresponsibility with money
False. It is due to expenses.
For instance, 50% of renters spend over 30% of their income on rent. Of those, half spend over 50% of their income on rent. 30% of jobs pay hardship wages (you literally can't move out). 32% of all jobs pay livable wages (basically guaranteed to not be able to save much of anything. You will basically be on the red the whole time). Etc.

So ya, "severe"poverty isn't a thing here but poverty still is.

Hold it there, champion. The profit motive is important, but a purely for-profit thought in certain sectors such as healthcare or education will lead to... Literally, the United States, where healthcare costs are absurd and every young person has college debt.

That depends how it's done and on the economic situation, but it's usually false as incentive to work is rarely the limiting factor. Wealth redistribution makes it much EASIER for people to take care of themselves and their loved ones, as their lives aren't so dominated by short term economic constraints.

You are wrongly assuming the recipients of wealth redistribution to all be NEETs, but that's only a small proportion of them - and the proportion of NEETs who are that way because of an economic incentive is much smaller.
