They're my favourite brand of cigar. I've never liked R&Js, always seemed excessively harsh to me for the price point. It really comes down to what tastes good on your palate though.

Arturo Fuente Opus X, there is no substitute. It's about $30 a stick but is by far the best cigar I have ever had, some would compare it to a good cuban.

>> No.15253683

>>15253489
This too, don't buy cigars from a vendor that doesn't have a walk-in humidor. If they just open up some cabinet or something, walk out and shop somewhere else. I don't care what people say either, if most of a vendor's cigars are covered in bloom, it means they're improperly stored, bloom is not a good thing.

Again, hard to proscribe brands in general. I stay away from R&J and Davidoff. If you need to go cheap, a good cigar store's unlabelled house brand is probably best, they're usually the best value in the store. Dutch Masters is surprisingly decent for a cheap smoke, and I actually like Backwoods. Hoyo, Arturo Fuente, Monte Cristo are probably the best I've tried. Cohiba is overpriced and excessively harsh... I have honestly never smoked a Cohiba I've liked, and I used to smoke a lot of them when my mom bought them by the box.

None because I got (unrelated to smoking) cancer and decided to quit. I miss it every fucking day. La flor dominicana is GOAT smoking though.

>>15253594
I had a few padrons in my time. Overrated IMO. It's a good stick, but at least while I smoked, it was the "non-cuban cuban". There's a whole world of good sticks and padrons are among them, but it's also they're also good sticks in a sea of them, by extension. Damn near ever boutique stick is good in it's own way.

Shit these niggers are even more overrated than padrons. I had a handful in my time. They're a good cigar for sure, but good cigars are like your children, you can play favorites, but you still love them all. There is no "best cigar" once you get into the world of premium cigars, because they're all unique and bring a different flavor profile to the table, and it all depends on what you're in the mood for at the time.

Which Padron stick? Padron 3000 is the most common that I see @ about $6 a stick. Not a bad smoke but not exceptional by any means.

Padron 1964 is around $32ish a stick and each 3rd has a distinct taste and is massively full bodied

You don't know what the fuck you're talking about, and are probably a mentally retarded person. I can only fathom some fuck sold you a moldy stick once, told you it was "bloom", and your brainlet ass came away disappointed.

several 1964s, also had some 26s. By overrated, I don't mean bad. I use that term because cigar reviewers tend to pick the most overpriced shit and shill it until the cows come home. They're really good cigars and I'd tell a person to try one if the have the opportunity for sure.At the same time however, I know the hobby is run by shills that get paid to shill, and that's how shit like "IT'S THE BEST! BUY THIS AND ONLY THIS!" happens. I recommended LFD, and they were among my favorite brands. My unapologetic go to brand was Rocky patel though. They never produced anything I didn't enjoy, and I probably smoked their entire line. They definitely had burn problems, but the taste was always there for me. I'm only trying to come at it from an unbiased perspective here, and by that I mean that you don't have to buy a padron or an opus X to have an enjoyable stick.

It was thyroid cancer. It SHOULD be beat, so I shouldn't need dude weed to cope. I actually just got an ultrasound today after a year of having it removed and taking nuke pills, and the bitch doing it started asking concerning questions. If it's back I'll probably just start smoking dope 24/7, because if I didn't beat it the first time, I'm probably fucked anyway.

Romeo y Julieta is pretty good as is Montecristo. Cohiba is pretty good too but is like the Moët or Veuve of cigars, i.e. overhyped. I would never buy a cigar in the United States though, most brands seem like Dominican garbage

"Overrated" fucking please anon you have got to be kidding. Opus X are a tier above anything else you're going to find in a US based humidor, the flavor profile is so rich it's like your mouth gained the ability to orgasm.

Great points. The wine industry also suffers from the same cigar issues you point out (need a good/light-medium red suggestion? I haven't had a $10ish bottle of beaujolais that I haven't enjoyed).

I've had many burn issues with Rocky Patels as well but I've only smoke their cheap sticks.

Correcting an uneven burn is annoying as fuck but it never ruins my smoking experience.

I haven't smoked a cigar in years but my friends and I late high school for some reason got really into cigars for a few months and tried so many different brands. I found I only liked 'light' tobacco ones and especially loved acids. They're pretty decent tobacco with added flavors that aren't obnoxious. Definitely better for you especially compared to gas station tier 'cigars'

My favorite is Lane Limited Black Raspberry. I also smoke Perique and Peter Stokkebye's Highland Whiskey. More recently, I picked up a couple ounces of Peter Stokkebye's Proper English. I'm giving that one a shot tonight.

I picked up pipe smoking because it is far more economical than cigar smoking, and I think I've come to prefer it altogether. A decent cigar around my city will run me at least $8, which is good for one sit-down smoke, while I can get 3 ounces of pipe tobacco for the same dollar amount and it will last me at least a few months.
