Anyways, I used to browse /smg/ (formerly called /rhg/ or /rht/). Didn't start looking into crypto until Jan 2017.
So I googled "what crypto should I invest in"
XRP was the top result, all the sites kept saying that they were doing shit with banks. I didn't think much of it until around June when I bought some for like $0.30. /biz/ kept saying it could never go up to $1 because of the market cap, and then at the end of the year it went to $3.
I was in class when it went to $3, I actually got up and went home in the middle of class to sell.

And that is how I successfully sold the top of XRP.
I also had some positions in LINK, ETH, and REQ. If you check the charts, you will know they all performed very well at the end of the year.
But I was getting spooked by all the green wojaks and smug posts, so I figured it was time to sell. But I didn't wanna owe taxes just yet, so I waited until the first minute of the first hour of January 1st, 2018, to sell everything. Then I made some threads bragging about how I sold, and people called me an idiot. Lol

Missed the entire 2017 bullrun but started DCAing hard into LINK during the whole of 2018 and managed to secure a 20k stack.

If theres one thing I've learned from my time on /biz/, its to never listen to the fucking brainlets that say "MUH NEVER SELLING" or "I'm only cashing out when I have over X amount". I'm going to have a conservative and thorough sell ladder on the way up for LINK + my other holdings and you should too unless you want to end up like half the anons here who cashed out nothing and capitulated at the bottom.

I think overall I did play my hand ok.
In retrospect, there were some big mistakes. It might be good to take stock of the changing situation from time to time and evaluate which things don't make sense anymore and which things you actually can do now that were not possible before.

Also when I look at the past charts, they do look rather innocent today but back then, all the fud was real and influenced people more than it should have. So the ability to separate signal from noise is a very important skill.
Probably could write much more but I'm tired. So good luck to the lurking /biz/nesssman.
