it is US that have moved their factoryes to China
nobody force US doing so, but US did it because it wanted so

and what i understood, China can devaluation their currency if they want, its not US business

US cant do the same, but that means that US citizens that hold and use US dollar, lose purchase power by weakening dollar

I might be remembering wrong, but currency manipulation isn't allowed by WTO, one of the conditions for China being allowed in was that it would stop devaluating its currency

Because the fed promised to not monetize the debt and they promised to bring rates back to "normal." Its clear that the policy failed when we couldn't handle 2.5% interest rates. We banana republic now.

>> No.15129682

>>15129591

No, the dollar rallied in spite of the cuts in 2008/2009 because every man and his dog took refuge from equities in US treasuries.

If you look back at the Fed funds rate, the average rate has been decreasing and decreasing over the last 4 decades.

With that in mind, the normal rate WAS the 2.5% we got to.

Embracing China was a deliberate STATE driven policy though from the 1970s. It was conceived by Richard Nixon to split the Communist world and isolate the USSR.

It worked wonderfully.

The problem is China didn't collapse with the USSR. In fact, American businessmen blinded by corporate profits and American politicians blinded by America's might in the 90s and 00s embraced China even more.

Americans are right to try to stop it now, but I think that ship has sailed. Only a major war could stop China now.

China is going to be busy suppressing internal revolts. The sole justification the CCP had for staying in power was that the average Chinaman's standard of living was rising. Trump has said "no, China, you don't get to fuck the U.S. up the ass on trade any more."

Meanwhile, China is a net importer of both food and oil. Chinese pig farms are getting destroyed by African Swine Fever, and the price of pork, really of any sort of meat, is skyrocketing. China's response? "No more importing pork or any other food from the U.S.!"

Look at Hong Kong for what's going to be happening all over China in another year. Hungry, jobless peasants are going to be a lot harder to crush than wealthy entitled Hongkongese.
