Redpill me on LLCs. I do some consulting/freelance development of both websites and games/apps. Should I register an LLC for both, as in a web development LLC and a game development LLC?

Can I just register them online in a tax-friendly state, since it's all online work anyway?

I would think that you'd have to be a resident of the state to register your LLC there.

Either way, seems like a good move. Wouldn't want to lose your shirt because cheeky breeky runs hacktherestaurant.py and they sue you for having built their online ordering app

good idea.my llc incorporation was only $110 bucks and i dont have to renew yearly. you can also take a home office deduction and some other tax breaks. i wouldnt bother trying to form in a different state.

I've heard you can register it in another state, I may move to a different state soon so I was trying to avoid re-registration fees etc.

Did you file all the paperwork yourself? I've seen services such as rocket lawyer that will do it for a fee, which I'm willing to pay if it saves time.

move to a state where there are no income taxes for llc and preferable anonymous llc like nevada but some llc creation fees are high. i created the llc myself with forms online and pay every year. if your apps are paid then an llc is a decent idea or just safu your income into xmr instead of an llc lol if your appsa re free then do a dba without an llc

Delaware is a good state for LLCs. You don't have to live there, and you can get a registered agent for as cheap as $50/year, plus doing it that way means your personal info doesn't end up in the public(ish) delaware.gov database. Tax rate is a flat $300/year.
No reason why you can't register a single LLC and do both web and game development under both.
