>> No.15081024

>>15080990

The US options market is liquid and many have high volume trading.

We don't trade warrants as they are not liquid or traded in high volume. Warrants are frequently attached to bonds or preferred stock.

"Warrants and options are similar in that the two contractual financial instruments allow the holder special rights to buy securities. Both are discretionary and have expiration dates. "

No fucking clue about 'turbo'. Never heard of it before and have been in this biz a long time.

HYG now has IV at 8%. This is about 70 percentile of the past years IV range
and 1.5x the average realized vol of the past year.
The IVR is lower at 23%, but this is likely thrown off from the massive spikes last year.

The goal here will be to short the put and if assigned collect the yield at a lower cost basis.
Hopefully the whole junk credit market doesn't implode. If it does the stock market will be cut in half by then.

This kind of loser troll seen above is a perfect example of what we were showing yesterday on this thread about learning what to avoid as a beginner.

Another perfect example of why its so important to read up and get education from the experts. Do you want to learn how to trade like a pro, and not blow your account like so many retail traders end up doing?

See the links and education section above. They're free, but you will need to do some homework.

The strategy does lower your costs basis and slightly reduce risk by capping your upside. You have a higher probability of a win on the trade. It's a good strategy with a similar risk profile to selling covered calls.

You want to look for underlyings which are high volume, tight spreads and high relative IV. If you are looking to invest and hold on assignment pick quality names with rich P/FCF and solid fundamentals or you will suffer from the consequences of making poor investing decisions.
"Biotech catalysts" sound a bit like you might be looking at small cap / speculative names so take care. The larger the account size, the more often we will tend to look at trading indexes and large cap.

We like to use the income from puts as an alternative to dividends and when we're not interested in acquiring assets at the current spot price we short OTM at the 20-30 delta range.

Do take note of the additional assignment fees from your broker which can add up.

A slightly more advanced strategy is the Poor Mans Covered Put:

Thanks for the info. There's always something new to learn in this biz.

Nobody here has experience with this product.

"Rolling turbo is a financial derivative popular in Germany introduced by Goldman Sachs in 2004."

But a few thoughts are to look for well established highly liquid markets with narrow spreads.

Be sure it's a fair market. Options are priced on the Black-scholes Model. We can calculate deltas and other pricing statistics to know the fair pricing on options.

Are things 'over done' here yet?
Some talking heads saying things have 'gone too far too fast.

Longer term signals we're watching show today is just a start of a larger shift in sentiment.

Could Trump walk back yesterday's Tariff announcement in the next few months?

Some pros are saying this is his move to try to force the hand of the Fed to doing another cut in the next few months.

Trade opened: shorted TLT strangle in SEP at
141/132 for 1.40 credit
