Why is /biz/ so cringe inducingly republican when it comes to taxes? You seem pretty liberal until estate tax or taxing the elite comes up. Seems like for a board of liberal NEETs you would be in favor of redistributing wealth. You dont really believe that hard work and determination is enough to become a billionaire do you?

No but we don't believe that taxation is an effective solution for income equality or will yield positive results for the economy.

Probably because the arguments for these taxes are pathetic.
All you're really saying is that it's okay to take from one person because they have more than another.
And as for your billionaire "argument", that's just saying that because you can't become one through hard work, you should appropriate the assets of those who are.
More education funding would help? Sure it would, but that's not a justification for fucking people on losing stock trades, Bernie.

These are the sorts of arguments a third grader would make.

obvious no property tax is better for economy. 100% of workforce will never be educated, but I assume you mean they will have paper degrees from colleges whose coarseload is gradually diluted (even further) as they have to hire more and worse teachers to accomadate the influx of free students.

productivity would crumble, people with master's degrees would be too proud to work at Target, but they wouldn't find work elsewhere due to now 100+ people applying for every job and they all have degrees.

I am for a 10% flat income tax, based on the bible. We should gradually work towards this so people can adapt in the meantime.

We need to stop getting involved anywhere in the world, I am fully for isolationism.

We must also get rid of Fiat currency, get back ot the gold standard and also let cryptocurrency flourish.

Increase property rights, including air-rights. Increase the separation of powers.
Free up the market. Privatize large portions of the land. Install a constitutional Separation of Business and State, which renders lobbying ineffective and gets rid of all money in politics.

The only duty of the state is this -> ensure the rights of the people, be the middle man between conflicts, provide adequate military protection for sustaining sovereignty, and install a strong national border. Let rich people come together and build walls around the country. Only people with high incomes and high IQ's are allowed to come in, introduce immigration tests. Install a population-cap. It'll basically be a large enclave for the elite.

Make everything in your country as welcoming to rich people as much as possible. Like Switzerland but then better.

There will be lots of private security forces as well, on the borders of people's property but also on the national border. Our rich inhabitants will come together to discuss how to protect their lands and their property by ensuring cooperation and funding of adequate forces to keep 3rd and 2nd world immigrants out.

Also, have you ever seen the private property of rich people? It's basically completely nature-> rich people love nature and clean air, they buy super large plots of land simply to keep it clean. Our country will be the most environmentally friendly there is.

Our country will be called Libertaria

Subsidising or providing free education beyond the primary and secondary system devalues the degree, and provides means to create a monopoly.

In short; Govt. pays for it, Colleges boost the cost of their degrees to make bank, standards slip admissions to maximise profit, the quality of graduates dips, the quantity explodes and now you have a demand and supply problem.

Why do you think Ivy league schools are considered the best schools to get into? They cultivate prestige and cost as part of their marketing; as well as the actual results and quality of alumni.

anyways the most important thing about taxes is there should be no exemptions no deductions nothing. once you start down that road you have to increase the base tax rates which eventually fuck the middle class. the rich and the companies don't pay taxes hide their income or benefit from deductions, the poor are exempt or get great deductions and or welfare that compensates for it or more also. so the middle class gets the shaft.

when there are no deductions everyone pays the taxes unless they can hide their income. and that's pretty hard today unless you get paid from the pocket.

for example to a bad tax system: in my country the flat tax rate is 9% that doesn't sound bad but some guy calculated that an average citizen will pay the state 70% of his income in taxes. this system is so complicated that most people have a hard time to grasp this astonishing number. most think they only pay 40-50% to the state, but the truth is it's closer to 60-70%.

and this is bad it kills the economy pretty hard, and the rich don't fucking pay these taxes. it's only on the poor and middle class. the poorer you are in effect the more of your income goes to taxes except for min wagers they get a little allowance here and there so theirs is a little better but still real bad.

completely horrifying tax system.

The tax rate after self-employment taxes for that businessman would be at least 65%.

But the businessman decides how much to pay himself. If he's stupid enough to pay himself that he needs to be ok with $100,000 of it going straight to the IRS. He has to pay himself $150k to just make $50k.

but let's be realistic. He's going to invest that $150k into business property, a home office and inventory storage, a fleet of vehicles, business travel, a timeshare owned by the business, executive retreats in the Bahamas, daily employee meetings at restaurants, and loads of other fun stuff you can write off instead of paying taxes on.

Taxation is theft.

Additionally taxes don't effectively combat wealth inequality. The liberals whining about the rich "paying their fair share" aren't going to see a dime of that money. The government will take it and waste it on welfare and foreign wars. In reality these people are just jealous of others' success and wish to see them brought down to their level.

So then tell me oh wise economist of 4chan. Hypothetically, what -WOULD- happen if spending on education were doubled, or quadrupled. Pick a multiplier it doesn't matter. Would that improve educational outcomes? If so, why? If the money is spent poorly who would get fired? What exactly is the money being spent on that will make every child read good and learn to do other things good?

>Books?
Books are already a black hole of cronyism.

>Better teachers?
From where? Where are these supposedly "better teachers" that our money will buy?

>Building more schools?
The problem with education in America isn't a lack of school buildings.

At some level you need to acknowledge that the reason Johnny can't read is because there is a culture among a good portion of poor people that rejects the value of education. The kids go to school and don't give a fuck and you could spend a million dollars on each of them and they still wouldn't give a fuck. If you want to throw your own good money after bad then by all means, donate to Teach for America or something, but I find it really offensive when people decide that what really needs to be done is MY money needs to be spent on THEIR shitty half baked ideas and then when it inevitably goes tits up as most government endeavors do the problem is always that I didn't pay enough.

If teachers were paid more they would inevitably get better as their jobs became more competitive. Hard to expect excellence from a career path that makes less than a waitress at applebees

Free market and supply and demand work best, however that really doesn't exist nowadays above the local level. We live an IP/monopoly world where big businesses own every part of the process.

>Govt. pays for it, Colleges boost the cost of their degrees to make ban
I guess that must be why countries where government pays for it have a much lower cost. You cucks seem to forget that a private has more interest in degrees being more expensive than the government
>standards slip admissions to maximise profit
don't see why they would
> the quality of graduates dips

> the quantity explodes
quantity is always the same, it is structural, not dependent on whether the university is private or public
>and now you have a demand and supply problem.
don't see why

Free enterprise allows any one American to become a self made man. Maybe you havent lived in a communist country that dictates you can only have the same wealth as everyone else but my family migrated from that. Its what everyone comes to America for.

On the flipside, capitalism doesn't only allow you to succeed but you are also allowed to fail. If you are not productive or do not have marketable traits you dont get a free pass. You stay poor. I think thats wonderful because at its greatest extent, people are improving their homeland and making opportunity for others. At its worst, you have poor uneducated people whining about income inequalities when they have failed to produce.

Socialism is jealousy absolute.

Some of the greatest millionares and billionare's of America's time came from the poor who had a plan and was at the right place at the right time, and most of the millionares and billionares today are also new money. No one ever said that it was easy, or you wouldn't die from the stress involved, but it definitely is possible. My grandfather was a son of poor migrant farmers who saved up every cent he had to go to college and become a petroleum engineer and worked a high position with Exxon until he died comfortably as a millionaire.

Just because you are a lazy piece of shit OP that wants other people's money doesn't mean it isn't possible for those that will work for it.
