Can this timeline get anymore bullish going into the 2020 halvening? Trump just retweeted Lou Dobbs who was trashing the Fed... Co-host or whoever it was asked Lou if he thought the Fed should be abolished. He said he would certainly consider it, and then went on to trash Woodrow Wilson for establishing it. President reweeted a guy talking about scrapping the Fed.

Shitpost about how bullish this timeline is, having a Prez putting the Fed on blast to this extent going into the halvening. It was the most interesting bitcoin related Trump tweet since Trump actually mentioned bitcoin.

They did cut by a quarter point but they seem to be implying they will continue raising rates regardless. They're trying to placate Trump so he doesn't push their shit in.

Explain if it would be a good or bad thing to abolish the Federal Reserve. If it was abolished, what would replace it? How certain would it be the replacement is actually better for the economy than the status quo right now?

It would be amazingly awesome provided that the replacement is not another central bank run by Keynesian charlatan PhDs.
A gold standard as the replacement would be most likely. Either that or a basket of gold and other commodities.
The replacement would cause lots of short term turmoil (think stock market down 50 - 70%, but over the long run it would lead to more human progress in 20 years than we've had in the last hundred.
>>15070299
This is certainly a (very small) risk. BTC is a bet against retarded monetary policy. If the USD were unfucked BTC would not have as many use cases. I think this is not very likely though because the US Gov has no way to service its debt if monetary policy is reigned in.

Go read articles or free books over on mises.org instead of asking people to spoon feed you. Interest rates would fluctuate based on the market like any other price does, preventing economic dislocations / malinvestments from inaccurate signals created by artificial interest rate manipulation. Austrian econ school talks extensively about how the Fed creates economic crisis like 2008, gives away free books, has lectures you can find on youtube, etc.

I don't focus or specialize on Econ. I'm not going to spend my time learning advanced econ when there's somebody who already does and is willing to share. My time is invested in other areas more to my own interests and specialties, and likewise if anybody were to ask me on those topics, I'd happily oblige and inform them rather than be a rude cunt and telling them to stop eating from spoons.

I was rude but this is fucking 4chan get over it, most people on 4chan are not so super busy that they can't pen in the time to listen to a podcast or youtube while doing something else. Why would you want a tldr from someone on biz when a presentation from someone who is more of an acknowledged expert on Austrian econ theory can do a much better job of answering your question.

Just watched the first video. Very good video. I finally understand now what is meant when people say fiat currency is air money. It all began with fractional reserve, and with every passing year and decade, more and more policies and decisions based around the core principle of fractional reserve created more and more insanity as basically infinite money could be printed from a limited backed supply at the discretion of the "Fed" whom the American people have no control over whatsoever.

I get it now. From a money system that imposes a hard limit on the amount of money in circulation to a system that creates infinite money propped up only through market manipulation under the guise of "economic stability" which is really just another way of saying "we fucked up and have to keep the machine going because it's already too big to fail by making it even bigger". I see the danger now.

Also loved the Ron Paul appearance. I understand the memes now.
